Abounding Grace on Oneplace.com

When you give is it out of reluctance, or some sort of obligation? We’ll be introduced to a group of Christians that had a much better motivation than that… they gave because they loved the Lord and cared about those around them. They gave liberally, above and beyond their ability! Let’s hear more about this as we join pastor Ed Taylor in Second Corinthians eight.

We are going through First Corinthians right now. What would you say you’re known for? Maybe it’s your accomplishments at the workplace, or your wealth? Some are known as being a gossip, or an angry, bitter person. But wouldn’t it be nice to be known as a loving person? That’s actually what the Christian should be known for, and today we’ll be encouraged in that direction.

While many Christians are sitting in the stands watching the game, so to speak, while a few are actually participating… our aim today on Abounding Grace is to encourage you to get off the sidelines and into the game. It starts by realizing you are very important to the team or church. Today pastor Ed Taylor visits First Corinthians twelve and points out a very common attack that you’ll no doubt face as you walk with Christ.

Many Christians have believed the lie from the enemy that they’re not very important or needed. And so they remain on the sidelines. Today on Abounding Grace pastor Ed Taylor urges us to get back into the game, as he takes us to First Corinthians chapter twelve.

Some might be tempted to think we’re opening a can of worms today on Abounding Grace, as we enter into a talk about the gifts and manifestations of Tongues and its interpretation. But really we’re just opening the Bible. Pastor Ed Taylor will help us arrive at a biblical understanding of these two manifestations that are often avoided, misunderstood, and even misused.

Tongues and the interpretation of tongues, there’s quite a bit of confusion and controversy surrounding these two manifestations of the Spirit. And we hope to clear some of that up today on Abounding Grace, as pastor Ed Taylor returns to his series in First Corinthians.

You can’t put your finger on it, but there’s a check in your Spirit! What do you do next? Pastor Ed will show us that God will often give us discernment when we need it most. And if we’ll follow the leading of the Spirit, that’ll save us from getting into a lot of trouble.

Ever purchase some red shiny apples at the store, cause they looked so good? Then you take them home, bite into one, and discover its mushy and tastes awful! Not everything is what it appears to be! And that’s true in the spiritual realm as well. Today on Abounding Grace we’ll learn to discern, so the next time a Holy Spirit alarm goes off, we’ll know what to do.

Here lately we’ve been discussing the nine manifestations of the Spirit, layed out for us in First Corinthians chapter twelve. So there you are visiting with a friend, and the Lord impresses on your heart to speak a word into their life and situation. Right away you’re thinking, this is a bit awkward or uncomfortable. While that may be the case, we’ll learn today that as we’re open to this manifestation of the Spirit, prophecy, God can accomplish great things.
