Pastor Ed Taylor will continue his study of Acts today. In Acts chapter eight an angel comes to Phillip with a simple message, Arise and go! And Phillip did just that. We’re in a study of Acts right now with pastor Ed Taylor, a series we’ve entitled, Be the Church! In essence we’re learning how to be the church. And today we’ll hear of a time in the early church when it was being stirred up by persecution. It's reminiscent of how God so often works in our lives. He'll do what it takes to stir us up to move and grow into the person He wants us to be.

Following Stephen’s death, as the church’s first martyr, persecution was on the rise. And a name familiar to many of us was consenting to it all Saul! Who later would become Paul the apostle. Thousands of Christians we’re on the run, scattering for their lives! Today pastor Ed will relate this to those times when God will do whatever it takes to stir us up in love and good deeds.
