We’re traveling through Acts at the present time, and here lately focusing on what spiritual servanthood looks like and how to apply it to our lives. When Jesus came some two thousand years ago, He didn’t come to be served, but to serve and to give His life as a ransom for many. And that’s a wonderful example for us to follow! And Timothy is a good example to follow as well!

I bet you can think of a few people in your life that are really good examples to follow! They’re living for and serving the Lord admirably, their family life is God-honoring, and they’re a model citizen. Today on Abounding Grace we’ll be encouraged by Timothy’s life. He’s a great example to follow in the areas of servanthood, and we’ll explain why in the minutes ahead.

I think it’s safe to say all of us have been on the receiving end of an unfair accusation! It can be greatly discouraging and even make you feel like giving up the ministry God has called you too. The apostle Paul dealt with it as well, and as we begin a study of Second Corinthians today on a Abounding Grace, we’ll notice how he chose to deal with it.

Pastor Ed Taylor is in a study of Acts, a series we’ve called, Be the Church. And here lately we’ve paused to deep dive into this whole matter of servanthood. At Calvary Church, they do a servant’s class on a regular basis for people who want to serve at the church. And we get to sit in on it today! What you’re about to hear will really help you live a life of service at the church you attend, and help you grow in this area too.

The pastors and leaders in the church have a tough enough job as it is, and we can either make things even more difficult for them or we can support and help them! Today on Abounding Grace we’ll learn how to best serve in the church, while supporting our pastors and leaders. And even discover how to handle our disagreements or offenses in a God-honoring way!

God has placed some pastors and leaders in the local church and we can either support and love them or make life very hard for them and be divisive and difficult. Today pastor Ed Taylor continues his servants class and reveals the best way to serve and support our pastors and leaders.

Today we get back into pastor Ed Taylor’s series, Be the Church. Right now, we’re taking a servant’s class! And as we’ll learn today, as we serve, we should do so with a pastor’s heart. But what does a pastor’s heart look like? We get some clues looking at the life of Christ and as we turn to Ezekiel 34.

Whether it’s a move to another State, or the mention of a short term missions trip comes up at church, or maybe you’re wondering whether or not to accept a proposal there will be times when we’re presented with an opportunity or an open door! But is it something God wants for us? That’s the all-important question isn’t it? Today on Abounding Grace we’ll see that an effective door opened up for Paul, and right around the corner were many adversaries.
