Evangelism rarely comes easy, and at times the environment can be hostile and intimidating. Such was the case for Peter and John in Acts chapter four, and yet in the power of the Holy Spirit they said what needed to be said with boldness! Today on Abounding Grace we’ll receive great encouragement for those times when we’re called to share the Gospel.

Been to a wedding ceremony this Summer? If so, it’s quite likely you heard someone recite or give reference to First Corinthians thirteen. The famous love chapter. It gives to us a beautiful description of love. Today on Abounding Grace pastor Ed Taylor sets out to show us what agape love is all about. And let’s be clear, it goes way beyond some romantic feeling we may have.

On today’s program we'll cover Acts chapter four. Remember Peter has just given a God-inspired evangelistic sermon to a group of people who have observed a miraculous healing of a lame man. 5,000 people ended up giving their heart to God. One might expect that joy would abound, and everyone would be excited by the news. But that wasn’t the case. There was a group of religious leaders who were greatly disturbed by this!

We’re asking and answering this question today, What is repentance? Is it really necessary? We learned last time that repentance is a change of mind, and a change of heart. But today we’ll take it a step further. It’s also a change of direction!

When we’ve been greatly used by God, we want to be careful to give all the glory to the Lord just as Peter and John did in Acts three. Today on Abounding Grace we’ll see that right after a mighty miracle there were people wanting to give the glory to the apostles. How did they handle this? And how should we handle that sort of thing? Find out today.

Last time we observed the healing of the lame man at the beautiful gate. It was truly an amazing miracle. Which raises the question who should get the glory for this? God or the human instrument that He uses? In light of all that’s going on around us today, it’s an important question for us to carefully consider, even in our own lives as we go about serving the Lord.

We are going through First Corinthians right now. What would you say you’re known for? Maybe it’s your accomplishments at the workplace, or your wealth? Some are known as being a gossip, or an angry, bitter person. But wouldn’t it be nice to be known as a loving person? That’s actually what the Christian should be known for, and today we’ll be encouraged in that direction.

We're in Acts chapter three once again. Some may view what we’re about to study as an interruption, but could it be a divine appointment? You can be sure God is in control of our lives, and leading us, just as He was for Peter and John at this particular time!

Today we open the book of Acts to chapter three and begin to look at a story of a man the Lord heals. The Lord gives this man far more than he could have ever imagined! It’s very encouraging to remind ourselves that our God seeks to do far more in and through our lives than we could have ever dreamed possible. The reminder is necessary because life beats us down - sometimes to the point where we settle for far less.
