7 min - Neon Indian | Hall & Oates & Emotional Italo Disco
Alan Palomo aka Neon Indian joins AbNon host Ben Aqua to discuss the evolution of his unique music and aesthetic — from his humble beginnings singing Frank Sinatra duets with his dad to being transformed by Radiohead as a teenager to covering “Vamos a La Playa” in front of massive festival crowds.
We also coin the term “emotional italo disco” and host a sensual, romantic listening party featuring some of our favorite emotional italo tunes just 4 u. It’s soggy with existential music nerd commentary and plenty of dad jokes.

"Life is Meaningless," said The Oblong Boys, Austin's weirdest and most zolo band ever. In this episode, I talked to Oblong A, Mr. E, Pat A. Physics, and Lockemup about how The Oblong Boys were spawned, the concepts behind their unique brand of music and performance, and their late night guerrilla escapades.
Think DEVO meets the Residents meets Frank Zappa in a hypercolor Yellow Magic Orchestra mega blender full of Sparks. Here's to The Oblong Boys!

21 min - Freewriting for the Grieving wEirDo
What is freewriting and how can you benefit from it? Does it help with grief? In this episode, host Ben Aqua discusses how freewriting influenced his grieving process after experiencing a profound loss and becoming a young widow. Ben also recites a few whimsically intimate, bizarre pieces from his freewriting journal. Let's add some Absolutely Nonsensical sunshine to that gritty brainstorm cloud.

1 hr - Resident Advisor Podcast RA.434
My highly controversial 2014 podcast for Resident Advisor, full of hyper pop and forward-thinking, weird club music. RA described the mix as "an online underground primer, Aqua's RA podcast is right on the money. It's fast, slippery and wilfully garish, blending tracks by key players like A. G. Cook [PC Music] and SOPHIE with music from his own #FEELINGS stable." It went moderately viral after their techno-heavy fanbase went ballistic in the comments, which led to FACT Mag naming it their Mix of the Week.
