Some people mock the biblical teaching that there was no death before sin by saying things like “so Adam never stepped on an ant before the fall?”
Well, Scripture teaches that originally God’s creation was “very good.” Death was the consequence for Adam’s sin. But what about accidental death before the fall?
Well, the all-powerful God upholds the universe. And the God who kept the Israelites’ shoes from wearing out for forty years and protected the three Israelites from the fiery furnace, can certainly keep accidents from happening in a perfect world!
We can absolutely trust the Bible’s teaching on death and sin.
