Acmecast

The Store is open, comics are back on the shelves and well... The staff is a little crazy. We catch you up on the past few months the only way we know how.  We talk about the struggles of the past few months, the good times, and fill you in on a lot of the conversations we had while you were away including the return of Wrestling to Acme comics and movies that we can't stand! Pardon our madness!

Jermaine digs deep with one of the most accomplished collectors we know of and friend of the store, Aaron Meyers! Some of you may know about Aaron Meyers, either from his collections he posts on his instagram, AMC Comic Sales, or the legend that looms large.

Jermaine sits down for an awesome an inspiring conversation with Anthony Desiato; director of the recently released My Comic Shop Country, My Comic Shop DocumentARy, and host of the My Comic Shop History podcast! The My Comic Shop Country documentary is available to rent or buy on iTunes, Prime, and more. It even features our own Lord Retail and the Acme Comics crew!

Austin and Ben are back from ComicsPro in Portland. We break down everything they learned, saw, ate and experienced. The good, the bad, and the ugly of the gathering of comic's retail organization (almost all good). We also talk the negative energy of Leap Day and our March Madness sale!

A lot of incredible people walk through the doors of Acme Comics. One of our coolest customers is Scott Neitlich, former marketing manager for Mattel (Yes, THAT Mattel) and the impetus behind the Matty Collector brand that focused its content towards the Adult Collectible consumer.

You asked for it, we deliver. Austin is back on the podcast and we're talking all things Star Wars! From our history with the franchise to Rise of Skywalker and Mandalorian.  Nothing ever really dies... or does it?

Ben sat down with writer Matthew Rosenberg (Uncanny X-Men, 4 Kids Walk Into a Bank, Punisher, Annihilation Scourge) to discuss how he got into comics, running a record label, the whirlwind of the year that was 2019, and his much anticipated book Hawkeye: Freefall that releases January 1st 2020!

A blast from the past! In honor of an official Netflix release date of Locke and Key we dig up and dust off an incredible discussion with Joe Hill from January 27, 2012.

Ben and Jermaine made a deal. Ben would watch at least one season of Transformers: Beast Wars in exchange for Jermaine to watch one of Ben's favorite movies of all time, Lost Boys. We bring in video rental expert and resident horror-hound Pete Bowne to discuss!

Happy Holidays!

Since we last got together tons of things have happened! Jermaine gives a road report of TFCon and Ben updates Lord Retail on everything Halloween Comics Festival! Long Live Steak-Out!
