Beverley discusses the journey from being a Fitness Manager obsessed with body image to being a mom of two young girls under two who refused to learn about pregnancy while pregnant and didn’t get her vaginal birth or breastfeeding experience.

NICKI’S POSTPARTUM EXPERIENCE [18:25]

Nicki’s postpartum experience is completely opposite with Beverley’s. Working at a pregnancy center give her a lot of information and knew to much about giving birth. Even though it did not make her feel at ease because she has seen some heavy stuff like health issues with both the mother and the baby. It even went through losing lives and that made her panic within her pregnancy. Fortunately Nicki gave birth normally and has enjoyed that process of giving birth.

Breastfeeding experiences are unique and under discussed. Nicki and Beverley share their experiences to normalize every situation.

SIDE EFFECTS OF POSTPARTUM [48:13]

Your body can’t be the same after giving birth. You have to accept the that after giving birth everything in your body has changed, and it isn’t all bad.

Angela is an Enneagram 8 who loves good food, chunky babies, and great fitness…in that order. With over 8 years of professional experience in the fitness industry, Angela is passionate about seeing people live their best lives as the best version of themselves. Angela enjoys long walks in the park, a good glass of prosecco and leaving voice memos at all hours of the day. Being Beverley and Nicki working together [00:30]

Even though Beverley and Nicki have known each other for just a short amount of time they make that every second counts. The sad part is that they cannot be together all the time. So when they are together they make sure that it will be totally fun and informative at the same time. They spent time talking and working which is what they love to do. Sharing thoughts that relates to what community they are building.

 

The Importance of community and builidng a community for women [05:30]

Beverley and Nicki are virtual friends, they just meet online and then decided to meet personally when they agreed to have spend time, have fun, work together and build a community to inspire and empower women like themselves. Technology has mad e the world smaller that you can follow everyone even if they are at the other side of the world. Social media has taken over our lives making everyone closer to each other thats the power of internet. So whenever you feel alone or having problems Internet can help you get the knowledge for you to answer what ever you have in mind connect to people that will mentors and will help you. Beverley and Nicki never knew each other personally, they only knew that they have the same passion and that is to help people cope up with life, inspire and empower women. That’s why they loved each other so much that made them bestfriends in an instant.

 

Nicki’s local mastermind meet up [11:03]

So just recently Nicki just posted on instagram and said I NEED SIX WOMEN lets mastermind. Nicki recieved an overwhelming reply from women who wants to participate but unlikely a mastermind will be inefficient to have more than six. Nicki came to realise at that moment that its a lonely place for women especially when they are entreprenuer.

 

Beverley’s struggle to connect with community. [11:55]

Moving from Manhattan to Westchester County was a struggle for Beverley. It was a back to square one in getting along and connecting with people around a new community which is very difficult for her even before Beverley became an entrprenuer. Only just recently Beverley should have known that there is a way to communicate well with people and that is being Pro-Active.

 

Lonely and connecting people [13:35]

Married at 23 Nicki was lonely. Despite being an agressive friend seeker she find her help alone at home. Nicki’s husband works for a basketball team which travels often and when at home her husband usually watch movies until he pass off. Nicki became even lonely when most of her friends moved out of the community. What Nicki did is she went to sunday church class just to have social life and there she meet someone look her up on the yellow pages since there was no social media back then. They then became good friends.

 

4 ways to build your community

* Being an active member of a life group [21:40]

Being involve in church group or any group plays a tremendous of growing a community big or small it does not really matter. In that way you will be meeting people talking to them and sharing part of your life with them. You get to hear happy and sad stories of the people around you which creates bond and friendship.

 

* Play Dates and being the Leader [30:55]

Start with it yourself, be a Leader. Take a step to communicate with the people wihtin your community. Invite them for a social gathering just to make them fell that they are welcome in your house. In that way you will get to see who are sincere people that will spend time with you and be a true friend that will be with you in times of need.

 

* Mastermind [36:53]

What is Mastermind? Its simply looking and connecting to people that has the same thing ...
