This was a brilliant conversation with a brilliant mind.
Here are a range of the insights in advance but please do dive in to gain value from the full experience, you will also find the video of this conversation on my YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLi25BCTiMJ0OiM-PdVsZ-FYPVfZgkK6AG.
· “I think we’re missing a trick in business because people aren’t one dimensional”
· “If there a way that we could figure out who people really are that are working for us or working with us, we could elicit so much more from people, their value, for the business that we are doing”
· “I think we’re missing a trick in business because people aren’t one dimensional”
· “From this military point of view, when you work for a company it feels to me like a bloodless battle against another military operation, another company, our competition; we’re competing”
Almost everybody wants to publicise themselves as different or unique, but how many really are?
First of all, I am a man without portfolio. No singular career path, no singular job skill.
I left formal education with only the most rudimentary of qualifications and spent the rest of my life honing my soft-skills and educating myself.
I have travelled the globe and lived in 4 continents, I have taken work in a variety of disciplines and met with almost every type of situation you can imagine.
I tested myself. To find myself. To challenge myself every step of the way, changing my opinions, my preconceptions, my prejudices, my perceptions. To define myself.
And what I found was my love for a life based on service. Listening to others; their stories, finding commonality with their struggles, trying to locate the truth that connects us all and the path that we are meant to follow.
I'm driven by my curiosity into human interaction. Possibilities beyond the observed social structures. Culture. Purpose. Tribal belonging and its toll on our mental health. The undeniable inseparable connection between head and heart.
I learned the most powerful characteristic to construct was the ability to adapt and ironically that by doing this, you never stop learning.
So today, after years of discovering more of myself through relationships with others, I try to offer my insights and in doing so be part of both our stories that we continue to write.
My forte is in public speaking to normalise mental health, improving work and personal culture, and building better relationships
If you're looking for someone who understands the battles with mental and physical health, - the complexity of its effect in demanding workplaces - who can demonstrate empathy through lived experience, then please get in touch and let me give you peace of mind rather than just a piece of it.
