I recently had the opportunity to model for Nike, and the experience reminded me that booking the job is only one part of being a professional actor or model.
In this episode of Actor’s Notes, I’m sharing what the experience taught me about proper set etiquette, arriving prepared, listening carefully, adapting when things change, respecting every person on the production, and becoming someone people genuinely enjoy working with.
I cannot discuss the products, production details, or exactly what I worked on, but I can talk about the professional lessons I took away from the experience.Talent may help you enter the room, but your attitude, preparation, communication, and ability to work with others can determine whether people want to bring you back.
This is all based on my personal experience and creative journey. I’m still learning with every class, audition, booking, and opportunity, but hopefully these notes help another actor or model feel more prepared before stepping onto a professional set.
What is one piece of set etiquette every new actor or model should know? Let me know in the comments.

After 22 weeks and 66 hours of improv training, I finished Improv for Actors 2 with three lessons I want to carry into every class, audition, and opportunity that comes next: listen, have fun, and adapt.
In this episode of Actor’s Notes, I reflect on the fear I felt entering my first improv class, learning to release mistakes, becoming a better scene partner, and treating training like a real performance.
I also walk through The Second City and look back on the people, experiences, and unexpected moments that made this chapter meaningful.
I’m not sharing this as an improv expert. I’m documenting what I’m learning while I’m still learning it—because another actor might be experiencing the same doubts, excitement, or growing pains.

Actor's Notes is a solo podcast where I document what I'm learning in real time through acting, improv training, and the process of becoming better in life and in craft.
In this episode, I reflect on a lesson that's bigger than acting: progress isn't always obvious. Sometimes growth doesn't come from learning something new, it comes from continuing to show up, getting the reps in, and trusting the process.
These aren't conclusions. They're just notes taken while becoming.
