This week, Steven shares on Mark 5 when Jesus encounters the Gerasene Demoniac. We see how even the most broken of people are able to come honestly before Jesus and experience His mercy. The Gerasene Demoniac encountered Jesus, confessed the truth, and was able to experience transformation. We too can experience the same elevation and transformation in our lives through humble obedience to God.
This week, Roy takes us through John 3 when Jesus encounters Nicodemus, a high ranking religious official. So what was a big shot like Nicodemus doing meeting Jesus, a lowly carpenter. Perhaps because he suspects that Jesus may actually be a prophet. And so Nicodemus took a risk in order to seek truth. We all should imitate Nicodemus in his humility and recognize that we don’t know all that there is to know about God and religion and that through asking questions, we may discover some life-changing truths.

This week, Jeff, Roy, and Joe take us through the life, impact, and claims of the single most important person to have ever lived: Jesus. Jesus wasn’t just a great moral teacher but claimed to be the Son of God. We need to confront these claims for ourselves personally and answer the question – who do we say that Jesus is?
This past year we’ve experienced a lot of anger as a society. And the world often doesn’t seem to know what to do with all of this anger. Pastor Manny shares with us that anger isn’t a new concept. When looking at this passage in Matthew, it’s likely that Joseph felt a lot of strong emotions of anger and betrayl when hearing the news of Mary’s pregnancy. And yet he responds with mercy, unwilling to put her to shame. This response is so opposite to what we normally see in the world and in ourselves. However, Joseph’s response is the exact kind of response that we all need.
This week, Pastor Ed goes through a key Christmas passage with us – Matthew 1:21-23. In our current culture, we often dismiss the question of God’s existence because it’s uncomfortable or mysterious. However, the Christmas message is that we aren’t left to just speculate on the question of God, because He showed up in history. And not only does God show up, He shows up to solve our biggest problem, sin.
In the midst of these fearful times, Roy helps us re-examine the Christmas story. In the world we see how fear drives us to store up for ourselves which ultimately causes more fear and axiety rather than security. But, through Jesus, we see how perfect love can cast out fear and how absolute power is seen through absolute surrender.
Christmas is a time filled with a lot of warmth and joy, but it can also hit us with a feeling of sadness. Jeff shares that chasing fulfillment and happiness through the things of the world will only leave us coming up empty. Ultimately we need to point our hearts towards heaven.
This week, Roy Lo talks to us about how we can give thanks even in the midst of difficulty and struggle.
