Adam Cheek's Sports Week

With the Baseball Hall of Fame induction announcement less than a week away, Ballot Tracker extraordinaire Adam Dore joins the show to discuss a little bit of everything regarding the 26 players eligible for voting in 2024.

Does Gary Sheffield reach Cooperstown in his final year of balloting? Adrian Beltré is a first-year lock, but could Joe Mauer enter the hallowed halls in his debut as well? Will Billy Wagner and Todd Helton finally reach 75% and induction? The two Adams -- Cheek and Dore -- discuss all of these topics (and more) on this episode ahead of next week's announcement...and what *would* Cheek's ballot look like if he were voting? ⚾️

Big thanks to Ryan Thibodaux (@NotMrTibbs) for helping set this up!

We're back! Busy few weeks and another week tacked on thanks to that respiratory bug going around, but check out my conversation with Richmond Raceway president Lori Waran from late November on the podcast's final episode of 2023 (no thanks to outright losing the recording thanks to my phone deleting all my voice memos, but I thankfully had a backup from a portable recorder).

Lori and I discussed the raceway's recent updating of the track's logo, its inspiration and her first almost-year-and-a-half at the helm of the iconic D-oval in the Commonwealth. We talk about the two race weekends from this past season, what's ahead for the track in 2024 and so much more ... take a listen and enjoy the holidays! 🏁

Busy couple of weeks, but we're back with a scattershot episode of a few different things: first, my interview with Virginia Tech legend Dax Hollifield at Bristol Motor Speedway from September, where the Hokie alum was on the pit crews for Craftsman Truck and Cup Series teams.

After my chat with Dax, take a listen to a brief conversation with actor/director/author Greg Sestero, a co-star of the infamous 2003 film "The Room" and the host of The Byrd Theatre's 20th anniversary screening of the film earlier this month, as well as a review my friend Ryan Brown and I did of the 2023 horror film "It's a Wonderful Knife" earlier this month.

Listen in as they discuss the film's themes, why it wasn't received well when it initially released in 2014, how it handles its incorporation of the France Catacombs and Dante's Inferno into its plot and more.
