Mario Canseco, President, Research Co. speaks to Adam about recent polls conducted among Canadians to help determine the general attitudes towards COVID-19 and the on-going pandemic. Canseco provides background information as well as statistics from polls that aim to examine if Canadians consider COVID-19 a real threat, do Canadians still wear masks when out, and whether Canadians think that the worst of COVID-19 is behind us. Susan Simmons, James Bay resident, MS advocate and coach joins the program to provide perceptive as a James Bay resident over the last few years. Simmons talks about the challenges the community had to face during 24/7 Camping at Beacon Hill Park and more recently, the ‘Freedom Convoy’ protests. Simmons emphasizes how grateful residents are for VicPD’s efforts over the aiding the James Bay community. Charla Huber, president of the B.C. Association of Police Boards talks to Adam to clarify and give some background details pertaining to B.C. Freedom Of Information act. Huber notes that the “serial FOI requesters” are becoming burdensome on department resources. Open Lines continue between guests as listeners are able to voice their opinions and concerns to Adam about various topics covered throughout the show.
The show starts off with Adam sharing a broadcast segment from CTV news which covers various aspects of the attempted ‘Freedom Convoy’ protest over the most recent weekend. Adam acknowledges the reality of damages caused by the convoy including harassment of James Bay residents and damage to the Beacon Hill Park ecosystem. Audio clips from one of the protest organizers is examined by Adam as they respond to the police barriers and potential dismay among the convoy participants and leaders. Afterwards, we listen to a clip from Al Ferraby’s interview with B.C Ferries President/CEO Mark Collins before concluding the hour with Open Lines.

Adam starts the show off on the topic of the ‘Freedom Convoy’ and their attempt to rally vehicles outside the B.C. Legislature Building in Victoria. Adam examines various audio clips from convoy organizers and participants as VicPD prevents the convoy from entering the James Bay area via vehicle. Adam also acknowledges how grateful citizens of James Bay and the Greater Victoria Area are for the exceptional work done by Police and relevant authorities.

Daromir Rudnyckyj founding director of the Counter Currency Laboratory at UVic joins the program to speak to Adam about crypto-currency. Rudnyckyj notes upon how the age of currency has been changing for thousands of years and crypto-currency’s place in a world full of various currency. Rudnyckyj also acknowledges the massive amounts of energy required to maintain particular kinds of crypto-currency.

Ron Cheffins, UVic Professor Emeritus of Law and Political Science returns for the weekly Political Analysis segment with Adam as the duo chat Canadian politics. Cheffins provides a brief description of the political history of Ontario and speculates on the upcoming Ontario elections. Cheffins also acknowledges the results of surveys that outline the current standings of various political figures. The remainder of the show is dedicated to chatting with listeners via text and Open Lines as listeners voice their thoughts and concerns over the topics covered throughout the show.
Open Line are available for listeners to chat with Adam about their opinions and perspective on various topics covered throughout the show including the ‘Freedom Convoy’, pop culture fun facts, Victoria City Council, and the downtown Victoria area. Brian Holowaychuk, Grouse Nest owner joins the program to talk about his on-going project that will result in a temporary housing for Ukrainian refugees. Holowaychuk shares that he has a goal of getting the property ready for Ukrainians in approximately two weeks including a campground and a refurbished resort that will hopefully support upwards of 100 refugees.
