Stewart Prest, political science lecturer, SFU talks to Adam about Canada’s roll in the Ukraine/Russia conflict. Prest notes on the importance of the Five Eye’s treaty in understanding the nature of the conflict and how Canadian’s contributions to Ukraine may seem bigger than it truly is.
Andrew Mercier, Parliamentary Secretary for Skills Training and MLA for Langley joins the program to speak about the new legislation that has been introduced in B.C. to focus on supporting and training trades apprentices. Mercier also acknowledges how the training programs have changed and adapted to the pandemic.
Dave Korzinski, Research Director, Angus Reid Institute joins Adam to speak about the recent research conducted and data about public opinion towards COVID-19 mandates and relevant protests to mandates. Korzinski notes that approximately 72% of Canadians are in favour of the Freedom Convoy going home as they have made their point. Adam kicks of the show by sharing the story of a young Indigenous person has been found after almost three months of being missing in the back country over winter. Adam also recaps and examines yesterday’s Victoria City Council meeting that covered topics such as Government Street, the Build Back Victoria initiative, and the upcoming Cruise Ship season. Mike Kozakowski from Citified-dot-CA joined Adam for the Roundtable segment as they discuss the topics previously covered by City Council. Kozakowski shares his own recent personal experiences with Government Street and how it may contradict talking points made by City Council.
