Welcome to Adaptable | Behavior Explained! In this video, we explore the critical topic of mental health among first responders. Firefighters, police officers, paramedics, and other emergency personnel face unique challenges and stressors in their line of duty. The nature of their work often involves high-pressure situations, trauma exposure, and the responsibility of saving lives. These experiences can take a toll on their mental well-being.
Join us as we delve into the importance of mental health support for these everyday heroes. We'll discuss common mental health issues faced by first responders, such as PTSD, anxiety, depression, and burnout. We'll also highlight the importance of seeking help, available resources, and practical strategies for maintaining mental wellness.
Whether you're a first responder, a family member, or someone interested in the topic, this video offers valuable insights and guidance on prioritizing mental health. Remember, taking care of yourself is as crucial as taking care of others.

I'm Kelly O'Horo, Attachment based EMDR Therapist, EMDRIA Consultant, and Advanced Trainer. I'm a mom of 5, Nonna of 5, wife, and a healer. I have the honor of spending my workdays walking along side people while they brave their healing journeys. I try to live with the generous assumption that we're all doing the best we can with what we know. Therapists are teachers for the "life stuff" and "emotional vocabulary" that may not have been learned due to gaps in our care givers capabilities. In the last 15 years I've learned that people are freaking amazing, resilient, and inspiring. Most importantly, we are hardwired for connection and for healing!
I hope to bring an authentic, compassionate, and unpolished approach while we explore a variety of topics such as parenting, marriage, relationships, dating, trauma, attachment, adoption, depression, addiction, anxiety, and love! There's a why for all behaviors and an explanation that makes perfect sense as emotion is at the root of it all.

Welcome to Adaptable | Behavior Explained! A little bit of concern about your health is normal, and even healthy! If you have health anxiety, worries about your health can take over your life and cause you a lot of distress. It is thought that between 1 and 10 people out of every 100 will experience health anxiety every year. Fortunately, EMDR therapy is a great tool to use for such cases. Let's dive in with Taylor O'Horo and talk more about it.

Welcome to Adaptable | Behavior Explained! The population of older adults (65 and older) in the U.S. is growing rapidly, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. By 2030, the number of older Americans is expected to reach 73 million, making up more than 20% of the total population. As individuals age, they may require varying levels of care, which their adult children often provide. Adult children commonly experience uncertainty when confronted with the prospect of caring for their parents.

Welcome to Adaptable | Behavior Explained! Your sexuality, identity, and pronouns are yours to define. They’re the core of who you are. Choosing pronouns that fit you is about being seen as your true self. It’s direct: You are who you say you are, and that’s enough. No one else’s timeline or expectations matter. It’s your story, your script, your stage. Stand tall in your identity, and know that being you is enough.

Welcome to Adaptable | Behavior Explained! The world has become increasingly complex over the past 50 years. Until the mid-20th century, the transition to adulthood was relatively well-structured for most people. One of the defining developmental processes that occur during the unique stage of emerging adulthood is the emergence of adult identity, or the subjective sense of adulthood. So today we talk to Collin, to bring a sense of perspective of someone in their early 20's and what they experience in todays world and that story of their own identity.
