Fighting off cancer once is a big deal. But what about when it comes back and you have to fight it a second time? Today's story is about a cancer survivor who found something that made all the difference in her second fight with cancer and led to her ultimately being cancer-free.
We often talk about the benefits of pediatric chiropractic care and starting from a young age. In this conversation with Dr. Robert Landriault, we discuss how chiropractic can help those close to retirement or already retired. He’s passionate about helping people to be strong, healthy and vibrant in retirement so they can enjoy this golden time of their life.
I also asked him what makes chiropractic different from other natural healthcare fields. I love the two principles that he shares with new patients:
1 - You’re designed to be healthy.
2 - Your body is designed to heal.
He shares valuable information on his approach to the first visit and report of findings to set people at ease and inspire them with confidence in the specific assessment he provides.
Dr. Robert Landriault has been in practice 22 years in Ontario. He loves to teach about the principles and the science of chiropractic to his patients and to his community. He has a passion for health and helping people live their lives to their fullest potential.

Break out the tissues, because this episode gets a little bit emotional.
We're talking about the story of someone whose life was made better by chiropractic care, just as their life outside the womb was starting. Dr. Lewis Singer shares the story of his newborn baby who was born with the cord wrapped around his neck, and wasn’t breathing. Efforts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful until his father reached out and adjusted his atlas.
We're also talking about this big idea of chiropractic that you are perfect, you are well, you are whole. It’s only when there’s interference that things start to go wrong! When that interference is specifically removed, you can be returned to that state of wholeness. When that chiropractic adjustment is delivered with intention, purpose and LOVE, it takes it to a whole other level.
This applies to so much of life, whether it is interference in our practices, our marketing or relationships.
Dr. Singer also shares about setting this intention when playing music or performing on stage, so that the music is improving the life of people who hear it, much like an adjustment.
Dr. Lewis Singer has been a chiropractor in Boynton Beach for 30 years. He loves to express life and live fully with stage acting in such community theater musicals and as an accomplished musician in a 5-piece 1980s cover band.
In this episode, Dr. Singer mentions working with me as a member of Adjust Your Marketing Blueprint. If you need support for keeping your digital marketing in-house go to https://www.adjustyourmedia.com/ to learn more.

Is healthcare and chiropractic just about avoiding death at all costs? Or is it about improving life and living our best lives clear and connected?
This episode of What Chiropractic Doesn’t Cure: Stories of Innate discuss these questions. We also talk about the intersection of mind and soul, body and spirit, and how chiropractic is uniquely positioned to care for the whole human being.
Dr. Peter Amlinger is a chiropractor in practice in Mississauga, Ontario. He is the past president of the College of Chiropractors of Ontario and Halton Peel Chiropractic Society, and the founder of Pure and Powerful chiropractic seminar, which is now in its 20th year. He shares a story of a patriarch of a family whose life was improved (dramatically!) by chiropractic over the years. We talk about how it’s possible for any regular Jenna to experience this kind of deep healing.
Then of course, I ask him about his perspective of chiropractic marketing - where he has seen it in the past, where he'd like to see it go. He drops some serious insights about keeping education simple and telling folks the truth without any of the BS we tend to share.
If you’re a chiropractor and you feel overwhelmed as we talk about sharing principled, educational content, I’m here to support you!

Do we keep doing things that improve our lives and make our lives better? Hopefully, the answer is, yes. Now we know that very simple things like water, getting enough sleep, and moving our bodies all help us to feel better in the short term, and in the long term. Today's episode is about how chiropractic fits into that as well.
Dr. Ron Oberstein has served as President of Life Chiropractic College West since 2017. Before that he practiced in San Diego. His wife Dr. Mary is also a chiropractor, as are their 3 daughters. Dr. Oberstein is an active member of the chiropractic community, serving in leadership roles in numerous organizations. He teaches chiropractic technique, philosophy, and principles around the world.
Chiropractors often talk about the 3-legged stool of chiropractic: the science, the art, and the philosophy.
Students obviously need science to pass boards, they need art to be able to actually adjust and they need philosophy to know why they are doing any of it (and the WHY behind their why, as Dr. Oberstein says.) We discuss how students and doctors can maintain that balance.
We also talk about a GLOBAL vision for chiropractic, with the shortage of chiropractors around the world and how we can start up conversations to encourage folks to consider this amazing profession.

All around us, we see adults and kids in this alphabet soup of neurological challenges: ADD, ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder. It is all around us! And if you're a chiropractor in practice, seeing families, you're going to see it too.
Today, we are talking about getting a brain-based lens so that we have this missing piece of the puzzle to put all of the things together and increase a person's efficiency and joy in life to help them thrive through life.
This episode is brought to you by my membership, Adjust Your Marketing Blueprint https://www.adjustyourmedia.com/ This is where I help chiropractors to share their stories so that more of the world can understand more about how our brains and nervous systems work, what subluxations are and how chiropractic can help improve life.

Whether you're a parent or not, I think we can all agree. One of the most precious sounds on earth is a child saying their 1st words. My 6-year-old comes in at about 6:15 every morning and tells me that he loves me, and even though it's early, it's one of the highlights of my day.
Today's episode of What Chiropractic Doesn't Cure: Stories of Innate is about parents who are concerned that they might never hear their child say those words because there are delays or they are nonverbal. And while you might not think this has anything to do with chiropractic, today’s guest Dr. Steph Libs talks about how it is all connected.
She is a mom, a chiropractor in San Diego, a Certified Lactation Consultant, an education addict and a self-proclaimed chiro nerd.
We are also going to get into how we can share these stories on social media, why it's important and why we owe it to our communities to share these stories on social media for the parents who are really concerned about their child's development.

Have you ever seen a before and after of smoker’s lungs? Maybe when they were smoking and the lungs looked dark, black, they're scarred. And then, after a certain amount of time, without that toxicity, without that stressor, those lungs begin to heal and look very different.
That scenario of innate healing isn't exclusive to just a smoker who stops. It is possible when any stressor is removed from our bodies for it to be able to heal innately. It might just take some patience, and it might not happen in the way, or in the order that we would like it to.
Today's story is about Michael, whose lungs were very scarred. He suffered from poor posture after many sedentary years as a taxi driver. He was headed toward surgery when he started chiropractic care. Let’s find out what happened when a specific kind of stressor, subluxation, was removed from his life.
It’s an honor to welcome today’s guest, Dr. Angus Pyke. He is a chiropractor, podcaster with the Marketing Your Practice podcast, savvy marketer and coach. He loves helping natural health practitioners get more attention, have more impact, and attract more patients with a heart-centered approach to digital marketing.
We discuss what holds chiropractors back from sharing their own stories, and what we can do about it. We also talk about not just looking at social media stats as numbers but as people peeking into a chiropractic practice. I love how Dr. Angus talks about the true goals of organic content marketing and understanding the buyer’s journey isn’t as direct as we’d like!

Today’s guest on What Chiropractic Doesn’t Cure: Stories of Innate is Dr. Devin Vrana. She’s a mama bear to 5, a Kansas princess, chiropractor, speaker and coach. With her husband Dr. Joey, she founded The Big Idea, an event and experience, which is happening as a virtual summit December 11-13, 2024. Learn more here: https://bigidea2024.com/
In this episode, she tells about a young mom’s journey from being told her son was normal, and just fussy and frequently sick, to finding how to help him thrive. She unpacks the layers of chaos from a traumatic birth, and how it affected both the toddler’s and mom’s nervous systems. This is such an awesome story of how chiropractic created shifts in the expression of their potential!
Dr. Devin and I discuss the transformational effect of stories like this, because it ain't all Disney! I ask her, “How do you find joy? How do you continue through pain to put on the colorful hats, feathers and not just fade to black?”
For both of us, telling the hard stories is a part of our fabric. I shared about when I was 19-years-old and my Grandpa lived and died under hospice care in my bedroom. That led to my first story published in a magazine in 2008.
Dr. Devin discusses who she processes and shares her hard stories, from stages and on videos. Then she wraps up the episode with a charge to everyone listening to find a way, find a form of media, or someone to help you with sharing your stories. Because we are the voice of those who can no longer share their stories - we have a mission to carry the message of hope and health forward.

In this episode of What Chiropractic Doesn’t Cure: Stories of Innate, Dr. Ian Shtulman answers an important question, “If mother’s innate intelligence knows what to do in pregnancy, labor and delivery - why do we still have complications?”
We talk about the effects of stress on moms and babies, and how alter biomechanics can lead to nerve irritation and interference. This leads to dysfunction.
Dr. Ian gave an example of a mother who was referred to him at 36-weeks gestation with a breech baby. He explains how specific chiropractic adjustments helped improve the alignment of her pelvis, giving the baby room to maneuver into a head down position.
That in itself would be a great example of how chiropractic supports the body doing what it does best, however, it doesn’t end there. Dr. Ian shares what happened during her delivery and how he also helped her newborn, who had been diagnosed with hip dysplasia.
We also discus why chiropractic research and case studies matters: because these witnessed and recorded stories create more opportunities to serve more people!
Dr. Ian Shtulman is a second-generation chiropractor, in practice in Florida, with a special focus on perinatal and pediatric chiropractic. Dr. Ian’s appreciation for pregnancy and birth led him to get additional training from the ICPA, Webster Technique Certification and Diplomate in Chiropractic Pediatrics. He is also is a staff chiropractor for a free-standing birth center, and regularly lecture and publishes articles on perinatal chiropractic

Dr. Kim Thor-Adams is an expert in pediatric chiropractic, standing up for your rights and creating the practice of your dreams. She’s also a chiropractor in practice in Nebraska, a speaker (I met her at MileHigh in Denver!), a coach, an author, and a mom.
In today’s episode, Dr. Kim tells about a family she was taking care of and how the mom said one time, “We don’t get sick anymore.” This statement made such an impact on Dr. Kim and encapsulates the idea that chiropractic is about optimizing your own innate ability to heal from whatever. Ideally, this starts during pregnancy and continues as a newborn so that children can grow, develop, and thrive with a clear nervous system!
We also talk about her core concept of bravery and courage in telling our stories. Dr. Kim tells about when her fire got lit up and she got even louder for chiropractic. She gives two steps for each of us to be braver.

Studies:
The basic idea behind the chiropractic PCP model was to create an integrative system of health care using PCPs who specialized in non-pharmaceutical and nonsurgical approaches, and to compare patient and provider data with the traditional HMO system. An independent provider association (IPA), known as Alternative Medicine Integration Group (AMI), served as the integrative health care system and operated within the standard HMO model.
For the entire seven-year study period (1999-2005), AMI's members (70,274 total member-months) had 60% fewer hospitalizations, 62% fewer outpatient surgical cases and 85% lower pharmaceutical costs than HMO members. https://chiro.org/Non-pharmacologic_Therapy/Chiropractors_as_Primary_Care_Providers.shtml During the Spanish Flu of 1918-1919, chiropractic Riley GW.
