شب یلدا

شب یلدا یا شب چله٬ طولانی ترین شب سال است که همزمان با انقلاب زمستانی رخ می دهدا

واژه یلدا به معنای ولادت و تولد است٬ و منظور از آن تولد خورشید است که به آن مهر یا میترا می گفتند

مردم در این شب بیدار می مانند تا تولد دوباره ی خورشید را در صبح شاهد باشند.ا

طبق افسانه ها و اسطوره های ایرانی٬ شب یلدا داستان عشق میان ماه و خورشید است

این دو دلداده ی یکدیگرند٬ اما از آنجا که زمان کار ماه در شب است و خورشید روزها ظاهر می شود٬ دیدار آنها تنها در لحظه ی سحر است

اما ماه همیشه در خواب می ماند و روز فرا می رسد

باری ماه ستاره ای را مأمور می کند تا او را از خواب بیدار کند

در آن روز ماه به استقبال خورشید می رود و این دو شغل خویش را از یاد می برند

خورشید دیر ظهور می کند و شب طولانی می شود

این شب بلند را که تنها یکبار در سال روی می دهد٬ "یلدا" می نامند.ا

خانواده ها در این شب کنار هم اغلب دور کرسی جمع می شوند و به جشن و شادی می پردازند

از مهمترین آیین های شب یلدا خوردن آجیل مخصوص می باشد که نشانه برکت و تندرستی است

از دیگر آیین های این شب می توان به گرفتن فال با دیوان حافظ و بازگویی خاطرات و قصه گویی توسط پدربزرگ ها و مادربزرگ ها اشاره کرد

انار و هندوانه جزو اصلی ترین ملزومات شب چله می باشد٬ که با برش ها و اشکال جالب شبیه حیوانات یا سبد یا فرشته تزئین شده روی میز قرار می گیرند

به باور ایرانیان٬ خوردن هندوانه در کل طول سال از بیماری و سرما خوردن جلوگیری می کند.ا

Yalda night

"Yalda" or "Chelleh" night is the longest night of the year, that occurs at the same time as "Winter Solstice."

The word "Yalda" means birth and to be born, and it refers to the birth of the sun, which was called "Mehr" or "Mitra."

People stay awake on this night to watch the rebirth of the sun in the morning.

According to Iranian legends and myths, "Yalda" night is the love story between the moon and the sun.

These two are in love with each other, but since the moon works at night and the sun appears at day, they can only meet at the moment of dawn.

But the moon always oversleeps and the day begins.

One day the moon asks a star to wake him up.

In that day the moon welcomes the sun, and these two forget about their jobs.

The sun rises late and the night becomes long.

This long night which happens only once in a year is called "Yalda."

At this night, families often gather around a heater or a fireplace and celebrate.

One of the most important traditions of Yalda night is to eat special nuts, that are the sign of welfare and health.

Another custom of this night is to tell the fortunes by Hafez poem book and retell memories and stories by grandfathers and grandmothers.

Pomegranate and watermelon are among the main necessities of "Chelleh" night, that with interesting cuts and shapes, like animals or baskets or angels, are decorated to be put on the table.

Iranians believe that eating watermelon prevents sickness and catching cold all along the winter.
