همدان نماینده بخش کوهستانی و سرد غرب ایران است.

این شهر که در دامنه کوه الوند واقع شذه است٬ قدیمی ترین شهر ایران می باشد.

در کنار پارس ها٬ اولین اقوام و تمدن ایران مادها بودند که در غرب ایران کنونی ساکن شدند و پایتخت خود را "هگمتانه" نامیدند.

این مکان در طول زمان تغییر کرده به "اکباتان"٬ و سرانجام به همدان امروزی تبدیل شده است.

از جمله آثار تاریخی باقیمانده از دوران مختلف در این شهر٬ مجسمه مشهور "شیر سنگی" می باشد که در زمانهای قدیم همراه با قرینه اش در دروازه شهر قرار داشته است.

همدان را با "غار علیصدر" می شناسند٬ که بزرگترن غار آبی جهان می باشد.

با قایقرانی از میان تونل های آبی درون آن می توان به تماشای دیواره های سنگی با اشکال گوناگون نشست و از زیبایی طبیعی آنها لذت برد.

فضای سرد و کوهستانی همدان و فراوانی بارش برف٬ مجموعه گسترده ای از ورزش ها و تفریحات زمستانی را فراهم کرده است.

پیست اسکی "تاریک دره" پذیرای طرفداران این رشته ورزشی در اکثر اوقات طول سال می باشد.

همچنین در سال های اخیر٬ مجموعه تله کابین "گنجنامه" برای علاقمندان به کوهنوردی و صخره نوردی٬ ایجاد تعادل هوایی و دیگر تفریحات کوهی٬ آغاز به فعالیت کرده است.

آرامگاه "بوعلی سینا" دانشمند و پزشک بزرگ ایرانی در مرکز شهر همدان واقع شده است و با معماری خاص گنبد تیزمخروطی شکل خود٬ یکی از آثار ملی ایران به شمار می رود.

سوغاتی های خوراکی همدان عبارت اند از حلوا زرده٬ نان شیرمال٬ انگشت پیچ٬ و کماج.

"انگشت پیچ" یک نوع مایع شیرین سفید و غلیظ مانند عسل است٬ که از ترکیب سفیده تخم مرغ، گلاب، شکر و آب تشکیل شده٬ و به خاطر غلظت و سفتی آن که می تواند دور انگشت بپیچد٬ "انگشت پیچ" نام گرفته است.

قنادان همدانی زرده تخم مرغ باقیمانده را به "حلوا زرده" سوغاتی شیرین دیگر همدان تبدیل می کنند.

Hamedan represents the cold and mountainous part of Iran's west.

This city, which is located on the slopes of the Alvand mountain chain, is the oldest city in Iran.

Next to the Pars people, the first people and civilization of Iran were Mads, who resided in the West of today's Iran and named their capital Hegmataneh.

Its name changed to Ekbatan as time passed, and has finally become today's Hamedan.

Among the examples of remains from different eras in this city is the famous Stone Lion statue, which was placed at the city gate with its twin counterpart in old times.

Hamedan is known for the Ali-Sadr Cave, which is the largest water cave in the world.

By riding in a boat through water tunnels inside it, you can see the stone walls in different shapes, and enjoy their natural beauty.

The cold and mountainous aspect of Hamedan, and the high frequency of snowfall there, has created a wide range of opportunities for winter sport and fun.

The Dark Valley ski resort welcomes lovers of winter sport for most of the year.

Also in recent years, the Ganjnameh telecabin complex has started welcoming lovers of mountain climbing, rock climbing, and the mountain air.

The tomb of Bu-Ali Sina, the great Iranian scholar and physician, is located in the center of Hamedan. With its special architecture including a sharp conical dome, it is one of Iran's national treasures.

Hamedan's edible souvenirs include Yolk Halvah, Shirmal (saffron-flavored) bread, Angosht Pich (Finger Roll), and Komaj sweet bread.

Angosht Pich is a kind of thick and white sweet liquid like honey, that is made from mixing albumen (egg white), Golab (rose water), sugar and water, and because of its thickness and hardness that allows it to be rolled around fingers, is named Finger Roll.

Hamedan's confectioners turn the remaining egg yolks into Yolk Halvah, the other sweet souvenir of Hamedan.
