In John, Chapter 21, the resurrected Jesus meets the disciples near the Sea of Galilee.  His interaction with Peter transformed him.  The Lord redeemed his past, rekindled his passion and reshaped his purpose.  Failure is not final.  

In the wake of the death of their great leader Moses, the children of Israel are experiencing loss.  Yet, when the textual dust settles, it is not the death of their leader that is on the horizon but the fulfillment of their destiny as a nation as the new leader Joshua leads them to victory.  

In John, Chapter 12, Jesus provides a template for anyone who is seriously interesting in knowing who He is and becoming salt and light in world that has become increasingly antagonistic to the truth and to the church.  

If you had to produce a "spiritual receipt" validating your relationship to the Lord, would that receipt survive the scrutiny of an examination?  

Spiritual maturity and advance can be measured and quantified by the basic mathematical  principles of addition, subtraction, division and multiplication.  The Christians at Corinth exhibited all these dynamics.  

Rather than being the source of devastation, disappointment or despair, the "dark night of the soul" becomes a blessing in disguise that deepens one's relationship to God.  

The silence and submission of His Son, the Lamb of God, is the compelling conduit and corridor through which God channels His amazing grace to anyone who will receive it by faith.  

According to Isaiah 53, God speaks ultimately to humanity through the voice  of a Silent Sufferer and Sacrificial Savior who redeems us from our sin.  

Jesus heals a man born blind from birth.  His disciples learned that God's purposes always transcend our problems and that day and night belongs to Him.  

Jesus ordered the man who had been tragically separated from his family, possessed by a legion of demons and living in a cemetery to "go home."  This is perhaps the greatest commission of all.
