A slow- sorry, a *methodical* start to the night, but by the time this show ends, it’s firing on all cylinders! Great stuff from all the brothers tonight - Lucha, Good, Jackson, Mario (probably)! Shocking returns! The Pixies! And most importantly, that damn Pepsi fridge gets what’s coming to it!
Rating: 84% - Must Watch
As we approach a year of watching AEW and reflect back on the good times and the … gooder times, we’re just thankful to have something to do during this friggin’ quarantine and we’re so happy you’ve joined us. Thanks for being here and don’t forget to Thumb Your Heart.
At long last, the Simon Grimm interview! Simon Grimm - or occasionally Simon Gotch) is a twenty-year veteran of the biz. Formerly of the Vaudevillains in WWE, he is currently (as of the time we recorded this in early March) with MLW as well as Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport.
Find him on Twitter https://twitter.com/deviousjourney
on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/gotchstylewwe/
and buy merch at prowrestlingtees.com/simonsays
We talked to him for nearly two hours - if you’d like the complete interview, it’s up in two parts on YouTube (here: https://youtu.be/7_n0MvmGbbU and here: https://youtu.be/R6JYR5lJJlQ) - he goes into waaaaay more depth about movies, wrestling history, and absolutely disgusting stories about wrestlers and promotions backstage.

Another episode reaching the high water mark of this podcast - no show has broken 92%, but three have equaled it. This time, it’s due in great part to that AMAZING main event. It’s the first women’s main in Dynamite history and boy do Thunder Rosa and Britt Baker deliver! Absolutely a candidate for Match of the Year.
Do you need more? Well, Cody and Penta will give you more! Plus, Fenix and Angelico mix it up and knock it back with a lucha-style match. And, oh yeah, three words. Moxley. Kingston. Promo.

If hearing grown men fangirl over Eddie Kingston is your thing, then boy have we got a podcast for you! It’s the first post-PPV episode of TV and all sorts of money moves are getting made! Most are amazing! Some are headscratchers. Some have made us (read: Chan) deeply, deeply ambivalent. But which are which? Cop a squat and find out!
Rating: 88% - Must Watch
Considering this PPV ran nearly four hours, a near-two hour podcast feels completely reasonable. However, if you’re looking for a slightly shorter recap, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
If, however, you wanna hear three goofballs completely dork out over an amazing pay-per-view, GET ON THIS ISH! Almost every single match is a unanimous thumbs up from us and this show delivers on almost every conceivable level - plus a few inconceivable ones!
You wanna hear some idiots lose their mind over a former pop idol? This is the place! You excited to hear an otherwise kind and genteel lady slowly embrace her bloodlust? Look no further! This podcast is for you!

A hell of a go-home episode for the Revolution PPV this Sunday! Which is an even bigger accomplishment when you realize that there are at least TWO matches involving non-wrestlers that could have been an absolute disaster. We’ve got turkey tits! We’ve got loaded shoes! We’ve got Ricky Starks in slippers and Onita getting all misty over exploding rings! We’ve even got Johnny Hungee in the main event! What more could you want?
Ice cream. With fudge sauce. And whipped cream. And a cherry. DQ - Hot Meats and Crazy Treats.

Look - any show that starts with the Blue-Eyed Battler and Ends with The Supervisor of a Logging Camp can’t be anything less than Must See TV, right?
As we approach the next AEW pay-per-view, Rev-OLD-lution (because of all the old people wrestling, you see? I GOT A DEGREE IN ENGLISH HOW DARE YOU MOCK MY WORDPLAY), there’s a lot to be wary of and a lot to be grateful for.
Nyla Rose vs. Britt Baker is a killer match, possibly even better than the 20-minute Archer vs. Fenix, which is absolutely phenomenal. Mox opens the show putting the boots to Hot Young Briley- er, Ryan Nemeth - and Team Taz lays into the Varsity Blondes (YES I’M ADDING THE ‘E’ I HAVE A DEGREE IN ENGLISH) before they get laid out by Sting and the Heartbreak Kid- er, Darby Allin on a zip line. Really great stuff!
Well, if you've heard the last few episodes, you know we're going to unreservedly recommend you watch this show. Jon Moxley (former AEW champion, current IWGP United States champion) gives a hell of a performance in the main event that's still only the second or third best match on the show and it looks like he'll be facing off against the bookerman Josh Barnett in Bloodsport 6 tentatively titled "A Celebration of Violet by Hole" (we assume).
Thoughts? Got some other non-WWE shows you'd like us to cover? Hit us up on Twitter @AEDoubleBack or on Instagram @AE_Doubleback or check out our YouTube page where we have our interview with Josh Barnett (https://youtu.be/HJGN4S0nnKs). Thanks for listening!
MMA and pro wrestling legend Josh Barnett sits down with the hosts of AE Double Back to talk about his promotion, Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport and their upcoming PPV, Bloodsport 5 - featuring AEW stalwart Jon Moxley.
Josh is one of the smartest - and funniest - minds in the fight game and he shares his decades of love and experience with three goofballs who know next to nothing. Find out how hard it is to find fighters with the skills required to make it in a Bloodsport ring, who he compares to the Samsonite gorilla and, of course, who wins: Godzilla or King Kong.
Bloodsport 5 airs this Saturday, February 20th at 4 p.m. PST on fite.tv and https://www.bloodsport.watch/. Jon Moxley! Simon Grimm! Super Duper Beast?
AE Doubleback drops new episodes every Thursday morning after AEW Dynamite and occasionally other times (psst - like this Monday when our Bloodsport 5 recap comes out!) at https://anchor.fm/aedoubleback or wherever you get your podcasts.
