X-Men is all the rage nowadays with the revival/continuation series X-Men ’97 dominating Disney+. So we decided to go back to the beginning and find out how X-Men: The Animated Series got its start and sustained some serious comic book cred for five glorious seasons. And who better to guide us than Eric and Julia Lewald, a showrunner and writer (respectively) on the series! We get into everything, from how the series developed and which characters were chosen to how storylines unfolded and where they mined the comics for ideas.
