We're premiering a new series on On The Go that was created right here in St. John's, but inspired by the music of West Africa. It's called Inside Afrobeats, and it's hosted by JJ Okonkwo, who is originally from Lagos Nigeria, but now calls the province's capital city home. When JJ first came to Canada three years ago he found himself searching for a little taste of Nigeria, and missing the smooth sounds of his favourite music.
