In the United States of America, 0.2% of Black women in business secure investment. There is currently no data for the UK but the situation is just as challenging for black women.

Vanessa sits down with Kike Oniwinde, The Founder of the Black Young Professionals Network, a networking app for black professionals across the globe, to discuss how Kike managed to defy the odds and secure £190,000 worth of investment for her business.

Vanessa and Kike met when they joined forces with other black women founders of Tech based businesses to write a letter to the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan in 2018 to address his lack of support for black women in business which went viral.

Kike recently was listed on the prestigious 30 under 30 Forbes Europe Power List and is supported by Sky & the New Entrepreneurs Foundation.
