Thanksgiving is this week and eating is definitely a big part of the tradition of Thanksgiving. Plans are coming together, turkeys are being defrosted, desserts are being made. that's a tradition. But also a tradition? stepping on that scale after the feast.

What are some traditions of yours to help us burn those post-Thanksgiving calories?

This is the season to be generous. We have so many different opportunites to give and to serve others. But what if you've got no money in the bank to help? You're not alone!

I've got a couple of suggestions for you that are ways you can serve others that aren't going to break the bank!

Maybe you've been in the same place as me, just in need of a hard pep talk!

Ever since I returned from my honeymoon, I've been baking up a storm and can't stop eating my creations. But with the help of my sisters (and my nephew Charles), they're giving me the kick in the pants I need to cut my new found bad habit!

Thanksgiving is well know for it's football games and LOTS of food, but I think it's known for a little bit of ego. Wouldn't you agree?

Between my 3 sisters, my mom, and me, there alot of cooking and baking taking place in preparation for that day. And whatever we bring to the table, we sure are proud of it, to the point of competition!

As you went back to work this morning, it may have been an interesting conversation at the water cooler. Those coworkers who may not normally be interested in church may have been jumping in on the topic of Kanye West bringing his Sunday Service to Church. Over 45,000 people tuned in on YouTube alone.

As Kanye began to testify about how Jesus has gotten ahold of his heart, he made one point in particular that stood out to me and I wonder if it impacted you in a similar way!

Usually I'm not into those gimmicky days. World Donut Day? Pass. But today is World Kindness Day and I feel like I want to camp down here for a moment. Intially I thought kindness is something there needs to be more of in our society, and that's true. But I think there's a bigger challenge here that I wanted to share with you.

I don't know what you do when anxiety comes knocking. Maybe it retail therapy or numbing yourself with hours of TV and Netflix. For me? It's eating. Alot of eating. As I'm processing through this transition from singleness to married life, I find myself with a lot more time on my handles without the endless planning and spreadsheets. I found myself in this place of asking "what's next?" God's words in Philippians 4:6 answers that question and reminded me that he comes first before all the distractions!

If the stresses and anxiety of the upcoming holiday season are already flooding your brain, allow me to give you permission to take this holiday season off. If it goes anything like it did for my family, it may be the most memorable one yet!

After a week and half gone, I am back a married woman! But as I think, the word 'yet' seem to be the theme of my life. It wasn't until age 38 that I was able to walk down that aisle. I don't know what it is that you have prayed for and waited on that you haven't seen "yet", but let me encourage you today as a testament to God's perfect timing!
