Age Inappropriate: A Podcast for Book Nerds

Despite what we promised at the end of the last episode, we're kicking off the witching episodes with Elizabeth George Speare's The Witch of Blackbird Pond. It's excellent. You're welcome.

Teen Witch live tweeting details coming soon!

Next up: LJ Smith's The Secret Circle trilogy. All of them. In one episode.

Content note:

We're pretty tame this time kiddos. A nice reprieve from Laura Palmer...

Hello Listeners!

Kristin and Karen took this show on the road to keep the drinks flowing while talking Jennifer Lynch's The Secret Diary of Laura Palmer. We even did a small interview! But it's mostly just horror until we start talking about our own diaries.

Next we start our witch series with The Witch of Blackbird Pond by Elizabeth George Speare.

Music: Twin Bottles of Wine (JP!) and On the Road (Tom Vek)

Content Note:

It's The Secret Diary of Laura Palmer. So like, all of them?

In a particularly musical episode, Kristin and Karen dive into Phillip Margolin's Jean-Auel-Approved thriller Gone But Not Forgotten. We talk "to the pain!," swap some summer camp stories, and generally complain about Ayn Rand. Something for everyone!

Next up: Jessica Lynch's Twin Peaks tie-in, The Secret Diary of Laura Palmer. AND YOU ARE NOT PREPARED

Content Note:

torture, murder, libertarianism

Kristin and Karen take a trip down memory lane with Mary Higgens Clark's Loves Music, Loves to Dance. We talk early 90s dating, clothing, interior design. AND have a very special guest, Mark, to discuss Bridgeport, NJ!

The sound quality is brought to us by Karen's dad. Thanks Dad!

Content Note

Murder, paraphilia

Apologies for the delayed posting--moving gets in the way of a lot. Please enjoy this episode where Kristin and Karen discuss Ouida Sebestyn's The Girl in the Box.

Also plus too, musical stylings by JP bring us in and we do in fact feature Nina Simone's The Other Woman. Enjoy and look out for Next week (back on schedule!) with Mary Higgens Clark's Loves Music Loves to Dance!

Content Note:

Child abduction

We're back with the second half of Jane Yolen's Sister Light Sister Dark. We laugh, we cry, we thoroughly enjoy ourselves.

Next week:

Back to regular schedule with Ouida Sebestyen's The Girl in the Box.

Part one of a two part discussion of Jane Yolen's Sister Light Sister Dark.

Apologies for the sound quality, Karen didn't double check a setting so everything recorded through the computer's microphone.

ENJOY! Part 2 coming next week!

Content Note:

Rape, death of mothers

We saw it! We loved it! Go watch it!

Special release! We're so excited about the release of the Wrinkle in Time movie, that we recorded three hours talking about the book!

It has been cut down to a more manageable length.

Join us next week on our usual schedule with Jane Yolen's Sister Light Sister Dark.

Hello hello!

Apologies for the late post. In this episode Kristin and Karen talk the second half of their ZKS double-header, The Headless Cupid.
