Drs. Ron Waksman and Michael Lincoff discuss the STRENGTH trial, which was presented at the American Heart Association Scientific Sessions 2020 virtual conference. This trial showed no significant reduction in risk of cardiac events with a new fish oil medication, omega-3 carboxylic acids (CA) as compared to a corn-oil placebo in those patients with existing heart disease or who were at high risk of heart disease due to other medical conditions.
