«A love album for living beings», the Apulian Antonella Fierli tells her story

The album, distributed by Angapp Music, was released on November 25th, and collects original songs, with music and lyrics written by Fierli, and arrangements by Paola Arnesano

Telling oneself in words and music, in jazz atmospheres: this is what the Apulian Antonella Fierli tries to do, with a scratchy voice and convincing debut in her first album of unreleased songs, «Antonella sings Antonella» . The album, distributed by Angapp Music, was released on November 25th, and collects original songs, with music and lyrics written by Fierli, and arrangements by Paola Arnesano. Melodies that range from jazz to world music, but which also wink at multiple genres, from blues to R&B, even moving on to hip hop.

Alessandro Binetti and Antonio Laviero on piano, Gianlivio Liberti on drums, Marco Boccia on double bass, Ignazio Cascarano on violin and Alberto di Leone on trumpet took part in the recordings.

An album to sing yourself: who is Antonella Fierli today?

«Antonella Fierli is today a quiet librarian with a passion for music, born thirty years earlier when her life was troubled by extreme youth experiences that she talks about in her lyrics».

Can you tell us the origin and genesis of this work, how it was born and what you wanted to tell?

«"Antonella sings Antonella" tells of love, society, music perceived by a restless soul in search of a paradise on earth transfigured by images of nature, sea, stars, dolphins, butterflies, metaphor of a love for creatures which transcends the love of a couple and becomes love for living beings."

Foggia, 8 operating rooms in the new department of the Polyclinic

Four on the first floor, reserved for Neurosurgery, Orthopedics and Otolaryngology operations, and the same number on the second floor for General Surgery, Plastic Surgery and Thoracic Surgery

FOGGIA - Surgical activity will begin next Tuesday in the new operating department of the Foggia Polyclinic, which is located in the former pediatric complex of the university hospital. There are eight operating rooms: four on the first floor, reserved for Neurosurgery, Orthopedics and Otolaryngology operations, and the same number on the second floor for General Surgery, Plastic Surgery and Thoracic Surgery.

Before opening to the public, the president of the Puglia Region Michele Emiliano carried out an inspection together with the director of the Foggia Polyclinic Giuseppe Pasqualone. «This is a real revolution - said Emiliano - we are investing a lot here: when I became president of the Region, the Foggia hospital was not a polyclinic. Today this brand new operating department joins the reconstruction operations of the old Polyclinic area which will be demolished, and will serve to overcome the shortage of current operating rooms".

«I hope it will allow the very talented operators to intervene and heal many people. Another good news - added Emiliano - is that the general director has decided to start Cardiac Surgery, which had been pending for years, in this wing of the Polyclinic. Obviously it's not easy, but this province absolutely had the right to do so. The operations were performed either in other hospitals in Puglia, or outside the region. This cardiac surgery will be added to that of the Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza in San Giovanni Rotondo, also activated by my administration. It's a great satisfaction that we've gained."
