    1. Darcy, thanks for being our guest on the AIPT Comics podcast, to start, would you describe Lotus Land as a noir, or maybe more simply, how would you describe it?
    2. How did you approach crafting a futuristic dystopia, where did you start?
    3. Tell us about your collaboration with Caio Filipe. 
    4. As a huge fan of film noir, and having studied it in college, do you have any favorites?
    5. What made Vancouver the right location for this narrative?
    6. The first issue summary uses the term “ultramodern decay,” can you unpack that a little bit and what it means in this series?
    7. I love thinking about casting to figure out the voice of a character, have you thought about who would play Bennie Strikman in a movie?
    8. There’s an interesting blend of tech seen in the first issue, like hologram monitors, flying cars…did you have a specific level of tech in mind when fleshing out the world?
    9. Would you say there’s themes of tech vs. nature in this series?

    1. Steve Foxe, you’re a busy man with Dark X-Men releasing now, Spider-Woman #1 out November 29th, and Dead X-Men coming out January 31st, thanks for joining us on the AIPT comics podcast.
    2. You’re taking part in the big Spidey crossover with the Spider-Woman Gang-War story, what has it been like working with the spidey office? Are there gang war group meetings?
    3. How does it work to tie into a larger event, are there prompts you must hit in each issue, or a beginning and an end to reach?
    4. Spider-Woman has one of the biggest fandoms of any Marvel character, is there a favorite run you have for the character, or one you brushed up on before tacklingi this new series?
    5. Your fingerprints are all over Spider-Man right now, as you’re also using Judas Traveller in the Marvel Unlimited comic X-Men Unlimited! What made him the right fit for your villain?
    6. Has it been hard getting into Firestar’s head with co-writer Steve Orlando?
    7. You also have the All Eight Eyes tpb out the same day on the 29th (I think I’m quoted on the dang thing), I love the use of spiders, they aren’t used enough in horror these days! You’ve got a storied history with horror comics, what made giant spiders the right project to do next in the horror realm?
    8. With Dark and Dead X-Men penned by you, if there were a trilogy of sorts, what would the adjective be for the finale?
    9. You mentioned recently on X-Men Monday Claremont and Cockrum were on top of mind with Dead X-Men, any particular parts of their run that worked for and maybe were on your mind when crafting Dead X-Men?

    1. To start, congrats on an excellent first issue out this week! The reviews are in and Alan Scott: Green Lantern is scoring high marks across comics reviewers, for context, how long has this first issue been in the works?
    2. What made using Hoover so important for your story?

    4. I found the first issue incredibly impactful, from the care and love Alan and his boyfriend show each other to the cruel world he must navigate, how do you balance writing a story about a gay man in the 40s with superhero heroics?

    6. Your story is taking place in the 40s DC universe, how much room do you have to play, considering a single choice could affect the universe going forward?
    7. Red Lanterns are relatively new in the grand scheme of things and yet…might your story be rewriting the appearance of Red Lanterns? Is there pressure in delivering on that front?

    1. Batman: City of Madness is epic in a lot of ways and visually stunning. What’s the basic premise when it comes to your take on Batman?
    2. There are a few plots simmering in the first issue, with Two-Face, Alfred, and The Court of Owls…and more, what has been the most fun developing?
    3. Talk to us about the importance of Morrison & McKean’s Arkham Asylum in this story and your own life!
    4. I love the visual representation of Harvey/TF, from imagery to lettering. Take us through your process of creating this take on the character.
    5. Like many Lovecraft stories, this one is told partly thru letters. Was that part of the structure from the beginning?
    6. With fans picking this up in just a few days, was there a particular page or panel that you spent extra time on getting right?
    7. As a cosmic horror, what are some of your favorite cosmic horror stories?
    8. The color choices are compelling, with blues, reds, and purples. Were you after a certain visual story through color?

    1. Having written multiple titles for some time, do you prefer working on multiple stories at once? Why or why not?
    2. About how long are you writing each week, or each day?
    3. Do you write differently depending on the artist?
    4. Pace of a story is so intriguing to me, how do you approach getting pacing right with something like Newburn vs Batman, or Kaptara?
    5. Do you think you’d be a good detective?
    6. Kaptara is so weird and out there, I love the soap opera aspects, the fact that it’s so eclectic, be it character or setting. Having grown up watching General Hospital as a little kid I can’t help but love it. How do you approach plotting an issue and get that effect?
    7. The conflict in Gotham War feels very natural given where you’ve taken Batman and where Catwoman has been in the last few years, was this a crossover a long time in the making?
    8. What you're doing with Batman of Zur-En-Arrh is truly exciting, what is the appeal of the character for you?
    9. Having written Daredevil for a number of years, has working on that book influenced your writing on Batman? Rory 1:01

    1. Wag is the kind of story that feels fully realized right out of the gate, how long has this project been in the works and tell us what it’s about.
    2. Artist Juan Bobillo is doing some interesting things with layout, can you talk about your process with them on this project?
    3. I find that Wag is less about “what happened” and more about “what’s next.” Do you find end of the world stories to be more interesting when they’re not bogged down in a ton of exposition?
    4. I have to ask, there are blue birds that pop up in Wag, any connection to Twitter iconography?
    5. Wag has a mantra he repeats throughout to center himself. Do you find those help you in your daily life?
    6. Wag is a five-issue series, with four more to go, what are some themes you’re tackling ahead?
    7. You said in your AIPT interview Nostalgia tackled the question why are we so profoundly interested in rock stars? Do you find you’re mining elements from your time with the Scissor Sisters in Wag as well?
