On the 14th Episode and Season 2 opener of the Album Review Crew (formerly known as Bonus Episodes), Tom, Zeus & Sonny review the 1986 platinum debut album from Tesla, Mechanical Resonance. The album and the band were a departure from the LA hard rock/metal scene of the 1980's. Filled with Jeff Keith's raspy vocals, the dual guitar brilliance of Frank Hannon and Tommy Skeoch and the tight rhythm section of Brian Wheat and Troy Luccketta, Tesla was different in sound and looks. Well crafted songs, acoustic guitars and great lyrics by a band in jeans and t-shirts set Tesla apart from their contemporaries. Mechanical Resonance was the beginning of a trend to return back to the classic hard rock sound.
As usual the guys breakdown the tracks and rank the songs. They then rank the album and album cover against the previous 12 albums review on the Album Review Crew Episodes.
