  • Affiliate Marketing for health and Wellness Business {e169}

    This week we’re talking affiliate marketing. I know it’s a hot topic in wellpreneur community because we’re all looking for a way to make a passive income in addition to what we are doing. And it’s always a smart idea to look at the different ways to bring revenue into your business, so you don’t have all your eggs in one basket. Some of you may offer coaching but also group programs, or you’d also write a book, have an online program – or you could sell products via affiliate links and an affiliate arrangement, which is what we’ll be talking about today. There seams to be a lot of confusion nowadays as to what it actually means and how do you develop such relationships and how you promote them, and we’ll be covering all that in today’s episode.

    As to my tool shout out this week I really want to bring it back to fundamentals and your email marketing. Because even if you don’t have a website you can build your business and generate revenue through email marketing, and need to have a solid tool for that. I know a lot of you start with free versions of tools like MailChimp, but when you’re ready to get serious about your business and send more than occasional email newsletter, you’ll want to upgrade to a more professional tool. The tool we have been using for the past couple of years is ConverKit and it’s fantastic! It’s flexible as it allows you to create different customer sequences, welcome sequences, deliver e-curses and visually build sales funnels! Check it out!

  • Legal Basics for Wellness Business with Sam Vander Wielen {e167}

    This week we’re talking about how to get your business legally organized. This is such an important topic and I know a lot of wellpreneurs who get really overwhelmed when even just thinking about client agreements, privacy policies, etc. So I decided to bring an attorney Sam Vander Wielen to the show to talk us through what we need to know as our legal basics for wellness business and answer a bunch of questions a lot of you asked in the Facebook Group. Sam helps empowering women with simple legal information and education through DYI Legal Templates and through mentoring. And because today health coaches are reaching people from different parts of the world, people whom they don’t really know much about, Sam shares the importance of making people clearly understand who you are and what your health or wellness business is about. Especially in the health coaching world where giving out information can easily be mistaken as giving out medical advice, it’s important to make a distinction and you’ll find out how.

  • Men in Wellness: Online Crossfit Coach Ben Dziwulski {e166}

    I feel like wellness outside of the fitness space tends to be so women focused, which is why I’m always happy when doing Men in Wellness Series. When I was at a conference in Bangkok I met Ben Dziwulski and I knew right away I had to have him on the show. Ben is a crossfitter who owns online crossfit training business and he’s done some amazing things with growing his audience using video, so we talk a lot about video strategy, content schedule and what tasks he outsourced first. Of course, we won’t skip his personal story and how his business evolved over time. From being reluctant to the idea of becoming just another online coach when there’s already so many of them and wanting to so things differently, he shares that how after one successful launch he didn’t know what would be the next step and took a break to see what he could really do with his business. Ben also shares a few different books and resources that he really likes.

    I also have some amazing news this week: Marie Forleo has released her training video as a part of the B-School launch! This online Marketing Training Program happens only once a year and it’s pretty epic – I’ve been through it! Her training videos are FREE and pretty great. I really recommend you check them!

  • PR for Wellness Business with Janet Murray {e165}

    Would you like to get media coverage for your wellness business (who wouldn’t?) – but you’re not sure how to get started? PR expert and consultant Janet Murray is in the studio this week, sharing tons of valuable tips on how to pitch yourself to journalists and editors. This is a great way to reach new audience and build authority, not to mention your press page would definitely look amazing! So today we talk specifically about PR for Wellness Business, and being that Janet has been on both sides of PR: as a journalist and business owner, she has tons of valuable advice. She shares about how to identify the right publications, what kinds of stories to pitch, how to connect with the right journalists, and then the key steps to crafting a pitch that gets read. Get ready to play a bigger game, and get some media coverage for all the amazing things that you do!

    As always, this week I’m sharing a new awesome tool for your business: password management tool called LastPass. Because we use so many platforms for our businesses we often end up having one password we slightly change for different accounts. Which is not safe at all! Plus, sometimes you are sharing your access with your assistants, or developers that you don’t work with on permanent basis. LastPass is allowing you to generate safe passwords, store them safely and share access with other people without letting them know what your password really is, and restricting that access when they complete the tasks. How cool is that?

  • Creating a niche: From pro athlete to media career with Margaret Schlachter {e164}

    Among all amazing people I have interviewed in 200 episodes of Wellpreneur so far, from time to time there’s one of them that stands out. One of those eyeopening and also fun interviews, and today’s show is definitely one of them! My guest today is Margaret Schlachter and I absolutely adored talking to her. Margaret is the first female professional obstacle racer, which is really a tough mother of races, and she now has a media career in that industry. She’s actually been blogging since 2011, so today we’re not just going to be talking about her career in obstacle racing and how she’s adapted over time as her body was changing, but also about her deep understanding of online world. With this knowledge and her love for racing sports she carved her own niche (yes, creating a niche is possible!) with the company she started running first as a blog with this awesome name ‘Dirt in Your Skirt’, that has now grown to podcast + amazing community dedicated to empowering women excel in obstacle racing and endurance running. We also touch on topics of successful online promotion and the effective use of social media, what kind of content gets most traction and more!

    And don’t miss the intro to hear about my adventure of the lifetime update + my weekly tool tip! My tool recommendation for you this week is something that I’ve never talked about before, which is backing up your computer. Whether you use PC or laptop for your work, the machine you work on all the time needs to have a backup. To save myself from headache of doing things manually, I started using a service called Backblaze which works the same on PC and Mac – you install it and it keeps backing up your data to the cloud – for just $5/mo.
