Last week we were talking about business planning for 2018, and today have a fantastic guest on the show, Jules Schroeder of Unconventional Life, who shares how she actually got better results in her business when she just acknowledged what was right in front of her, stopped planning and just really went with the flow. So it’s going to be a great way for you to look at the both sides of the coin and wager if there’s actually a place for you to use both of these approaches in your business. I personally really believe in the value of the plan and having a goal, but once you are confident and really clear on those, I think you also need to be open to some serendipity and see when good opportunities present themselves. And that’s what we’ll be talking about in this week’s episode. Jules shares about the transformation she’s gone through in her business, how she’s really learnt to let go and go with the flow. I love how she defines allowing things to happen effortlessly as a ‘minimum movement maximum impact’, and how she explains that taking one steps forward can actually get you to take ten steps out.
We dig into the idea of ‘if it’s not a HELL YES – it’s a NO’ and being really aligned and enthusiastic about what you are doing in your business. Jules shares how tapping into your intuition can help you find confidence when making decisions, not only in your business, but in also your life and what it looks like to be living on your own terms. You’ll hear today some valuable tips and tools to use to start listening to yourself and tune in with your body, and learn the best ways to support yourself to be the leader, be more productive and bring all your visions to life.
Speaking of going with the flow, it doesn’t mean you don’t need to be organized! One of the things I decided to do in season 2 of the podcast is to also share with you one of my favorite business tools every week, and today I’ll be mentioning Acuity Scheduling, an online scheduling app that’s really made my life so much more organized this past year by helping me stay on top of my agenda, especially these past few months when I decided to follow my passion and go on an adventure of a lifetime.

Welcome to our last episode in 2017! We are wrapping up the year with an amazing interview with the founder of the Girlskill podcast, Anna Rova. I met Anna in October at a conference in Bangkok and I was really inspired by her story of taking a leap and becoming a digital nomad. If you are in the place where you are either still balancing between your corporate job and entrepreneurship, or you have already started your own business but realized it’s not really aligned with you and require changing your niche – you are going to love this episode! We talk about Anna’s first job in marketing industry and how with going through a tough breakup first motivated her to take a step into exploring men and their take on relationships with women. We talk honestly how letting events in your personal life affect your professional life don’t necessarily have to be negative, but push you to explore and find your passions. So while running this super successful podcast where she interviewed men, Anna found her femininity again and discovered her true calling – something completely different that meant completely changing niche.
I love how she said that some projects you are just meant to start, learn from, and finish and even though it may seam scary to leave something good behind to get over that fear and recognize when it’s time to walk away towards something new. Because taking the next step and tackle the challenges on a new project can be so fulfilling if you feel excited about it and if it just seams right. We also touch on topics such as how publishing on other media can help you grow your success, her daily routines, and discovering how childhood passions can make a significant influence in defining your true calling. Again, if you ever feel like you got stuck at your current business or maybe even outgrown it, even if it’s something that used to be a great fit but just doesn’t seam aligned with you anymore and you feel like you need a change, join this chat. I have also been recently interviewed by Anna for her podcast and it was such a deep, touching interview so if you’d like to learn more about me and my own journey and struggles with femininity, check out the show notes where it’s linked up.

This week we’re talking about personal branding with Erica Blair.
Erica is a Brand Strategist specialized in helping skilled professionals plan out how to set up foundation and launch their own independent brands so they can successfully market their business.
She is here to share that creating a brand for your health and wellness business can be a lot simpler than it seems, as we naturally tend to really over-complicate things.
In this conversation, we are going to cover what it means to create a personal brand, how to decide if you want to create a brand around yourself or your business name, and how you can emphasize some really unique qualities in yourself that you might be a little nervous to put out there.
As Erica explains, shifting those qualities to the core of your brand rather than downplaying them may be the key component to connecting to your ideal clients.
Having a brand for your business means having the key elements to be recognized by not just your words, but also the feelings you want to invoke when people hear them, and through those feelings, you connect with your audience and make them really aware of what your business is.
I also have a weekly email marketing tip for you that will help you introduce the different elements of your brand to your audience, so tune in to hear what it is and how to apply it in your business.

This week I’m bringing back a fantastic episode from our archives. This interview with Julie Parker is filled with really great information and this is still very relevant content to what the situation is today with growing our wellness businesses online. Julie is the creator of Inspired Coach Magazine and the founder of Beautiful You Coaching Academy and we’re talking about the coaching industry and what do top health and wellness coaches she’s observed do differently. From the habits and behaviors of successful wellness coaches that get them great results (and clients) all the way to sales, Julie shares with us key mindset shifts that differentiate successful wellness coaches from the rest. So if you are a health and wellness coach or you’re thinking about becoming one this episode is super relevant for you and you’ll definitely want to tune in. Now, I don’t know what you are using for your email marketing, but I use a tool called ConvertKit, and I have been with them a couple of years. I tried Aweber and MailChimp but for creating multiple optin gifts these were not the best solutions. With the big update ConvertKit recently had improving the functionality and adding visual automation – it’s just more amazing than it was. It allows you to create simple or more advanced sales funnels that just work for you (I explain this more in debt in today’s episode).

Could your mindset about money be holding you back in building your wellness business?
It’s so easy to think that something ‘out there’ is preventing you from reaching your income goals. But the reality is, as entrepreneurs, we are responsible for our business results – and many of those results might be limited because of your beliefs about money! Coach and motivational Denise Duffield-Thomas joins us for this weeks interview (which you can listen to above). Denise is the founder of Lucky Bitch, where she helps exceptional women create outrageous success in their life + business. And through her work, she has noticed three pervasive limiting money beliefs among wellness entrepreneurs.
There are 3 limiting beliefs about money that are especially prevalent among health and wellness entrepreneurs. And they’re not serving you (or the world!) at all – do you have any of these?
Limiting Money Belief 1: “I’ll never make money from this kind of work.”This belief is especially prevalent in certain health and wellness circles. You’ve probably stumbled into a group where the overall vibe is “If you choose to do this work, you’re going to be broke”, “it’s so difficult to find clients”, “People just aren’t prepared to pay a lot for this kind of work” – have you ever heard those in a discussion about wellness businesses? I have, and I’m sure you have too!
If you want to shift this money belief, you need to get yourself out of the negative group, and into a group of positive wellpreneurs who are making real progress in their business and lives (feel free to join us in the wellpreneur community group on facebook!) Start actively looking for examples of wellpreneurs who ARE making that business work. If it’s going to be possible for you, you need to believe that it’s possible.
Limiting Money Belief 2: “I shouldn’t make money from this kind of work.”This money belief is all about guilt. Because we’re helping people through health and wellness, many wellpreneurs feel guilty for charging for this help. It’s a belief that it’s not right to charge for your products and services, if they’re helping someone. But this is complete rubbish, because aren’t all products and services helping people to achieve something that they want?! It seems to be only in the health and wellness field that we feel guilty for charging for our skills and experience.
You’ve invested in yourself to learn the skills you need to be a wellpreneur – and just like any other professional, it’s fair that you charge for your expertise.
Limiting Money Belief 3: “Shouldn’t everyone have free access to this health information?”Here’s another quirky limiting belief in the wellness industry. That everyone deserves good health, and therefore, we should just give away all of this information for free, to help everyone.
Looking at it from a different perspective, Denise shares about her client who is a naturopath, who has increased her rates and started working with more engaged clients, and this has therefore given her more free time so she can create programs that are more widely accessible. If you charge low rates for your 1:1 work, you’ll just burn yourself out and likely not stay in the wellness industry for long. Instead, if you charge healthy prices, you’ll open up more free time that enables you to write books, create podcasts or blogs, and create lower priced programs that can help hundreds or thousands of people. You can help many people with your health and wellness knowledge – just not all through 1:1 services!
Here’s what you’ll learn about money mindset for wellpreneurs:This episode originally aired on The Wellpreneur Podcast.

This week I have another inspiring interview for you with a wellpreneur who works in the part of our industry we don’t often see online. Dr. Travis Zigler is an optometrist, and he and his wife both being doctors have been running a regular on-site business and seeing clients in person. But they wanted more freedom and flexibility in their lives and they also had a really strong drive to give back to the community when it comes to eye health – because not everyone can afford to go and see an optometrist. So they decided to start an online business called Eye Love, and set up Eye Love Cares Foundation to start helping prevent blindness in the world. You’ll see how they came up with a unique way to tell people what they do, a title that that sparks a conversation and allows them to throw an amazing pitch. Travis shares how while figuring out how to work online, they first started out with sunglasses business but quickly evolved to developing and selling their own eye wellness products for dry eye and macular degeneration, so they could help more people improve their eyesight. Since then they have grown their online business exponentially, and extra profits of that business allowed them start their own charity and start providing glasses to people that cannot afford them, offer scholarships to optometry students, and finance small expeditions for treating preventable blindness. We also talk about the importance of cleaning up your email list, Facebook lives, and about their awesome content creation and SEO strategy that really helps with their Google ranking, with spending minimum $ on payed advertising. This interview will show you how they took optometry online and how any type of wellness business can be moved online as well. Whether you can offer a portion of your services that way or all of them, you can really make an impact with your work all around the world while allowing yourself more freedom and flexibility with taking your in person wellness business online.

Going to conferences and trying to make the most of them is something that I did extensively in my corporate job so it really comes natural to me. But, from talking to other wellpreneurs I realized that most of you haven’t had that experience, and as I’m just getting ready to head out to conference in Bangkok I decided to share some tips on how I approach conferences to make sure I don’t burn myself out, that I get what I want out of the event and make some amazing connections. Taking it from someone who is really introverted, because going to conferences really drains me, I really had to learn how to pace myself and take care of my self so I could spend my time and energy in areas that are important to me – like meeting new people and enjoying the travel. If you are about to go to your first conference, or have already been to one but felt uncomfortable and like you didn’t get what you wanted, or you just love conferences like I do – you are really going to enjoy this episode.

This week we’re talking about how to use Instagram the right way to grow your health and wellness business. This episode was actually inspired by a recent thread in Wellpreneur Community on Facebook, where my today’s guest, wellness photographer Briena Sash, replied with amazing tips, techniques and strategies on how to use Instagram for wellness business. Many of our members found Briena’s insight super helpful, and I know all of our listeners would too. Running a successful Instagram account is definitely not just taking photos of what you’re eating and all places you are, because if you want to be effective you really need some strategy behind it. Briena shares how at the beginning even as a photographer, she herself approached Instagram the wrong way, and talks how she later shifted her strategy and branded her feed by following three pillars of Instagram success: inspire, educate and engage. She also shares what inspired her to do wellness photography and how we as entrepreneurs don’t have to be great photographers to run a good Instagram, but how we learn to choose good images that our audience will wind inspiring, whether with a little help of stock photography or with helpful filtering and planning apps to improve our images and account look, and add some uniqueness to it.
