Now, she’s stepping behind the camera to direct her first feature film—a gripping crime thriller set in a small Texas town, where the lives of two small-time thugs, a woman desperate to escape, an old lady with a dark secret, and a check-cashing store full of cash collide over eight fateful days. Starring Phoebe Tonkin (The Originals), Darren Mann (Animal Kingdom), Mustafa Speaks (Mayor of Kingstown), and Valerie Mahaffey (Big Sky), The 8th Day was shot against the dramatic backdrop of New Mexico with cinematography by Cameron Duncan and edited by Academy Award nominee Sandra Adair (Boyhood).
