Anthony Palma- The Abduction of Kirsten Hatfield - Cold Case Solved

In May of 1997, eight-year-old Kirsten Hatfield vanished from her bedroom in Midwest City, Oklahoma. It took almost twenty years before her killer was brought to justice.

According to court documents, Palma was interviewed by an FBI agent on May 17th, 1997 at his home but was never arrested.His wife, who married him after Hatfield disappeared, said “Tony still gets upset about the case when it is mentioned.”

Officials asked why he got upset and his wife said “because it happened so close to his house.”
Prosecutors alleged Palma snatched Kirsten Renee Hatfield from her bedroom after she went to bed May 13, 1997. She hasn’t been seen since.

Palma denied any involvement. He was arrested in October 2015 after new DNA testing connected him to items at the crime scene, according to prosecutors. He lived two doors down from the victim in 1997 and hadn’t moved. The new forensic testing revealed Palma’s DNA matched blood found on the girl’s bedroom windowsill and on her underwear, which was discovered in her backyard, police reported.

The sentencing phase followed, and Palma was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Palma would only serve less than two years of that sentence. In January of 2019, he was found dead in his prison cell at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary. He had been strangled and beaten to death by his cellmate. He took with him to his grave the location of Kirsten’s body.

Road Rage Case - Interview with Meghan Bigelow

"As Vaughn Bigelow Jr. had his hands up cowering in fear Mr. Webster placed firmly the barrel of that gun to the child's head and pulled the trigger ending his life," said Chief Deputy District Attorney Jennifer Prince in closing arguments. "It doesn't get more intentional and deliberate than that."
The boy was with his mother, Meghan, and two other brothers when they were involved in a road rage incident on Sheridan Boulevard on the way to their dentist's office, when she attempted to move over into his lane due to an emergency vehicle behind her.

She testified that Webster screamed at her and followed her into the parking lot of the Cedarwood Square Office Complex at 5150 W. 80th Ave. in Westminster. It was there that Webster pulled out a gun and shot Meghan Bigelow and two of her children.

She and her then 7-year-old son, Asa, were both seriously wounded but survived. Vaughn Bigelow was killed. Another man, John Gale, who was in the parking lot waiting for his daughter's dentist appointment was also wounded.

He pulled the trigger until there were no more bullets.

Jeremy Webster was convicted of 12 counts, including first-degree murder and numerous counts of attempted murder and assault. Ten sentence enhancers were also proven. On June 14, 2018, he shot and killed 13-year-old Vaughn Bigelow and seriously wounded several others in an office complex parking lot near West 80th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard.

Webster pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. 

"He had a mood disorder that began at a very young age and it progressed, as it does," his attorney said during closings. By his 20s, Webster had Schizoaffective bipolar disorder, she said.
Webster received life without parole for the first-degree murder charge and 48 years for each of another six counts, which will run consecutive to each other and to the life sentence. He received 32 years each for another four counts, which will be served concurrently, and 16 years for a final count also to be served concurrently. 

"His own mind was betraying him for his entire life," his attorney told the jury. Webster did not speak at his sentencing. His attorney said they plan to appeal.

Russian Bride Kills Military Husband To Get Her Kids Back | Case of Angelina Hamrick

On June 30th, 2019, police in Ohio responded to a residence after receiving a missing persons report. The father of Air Force Sgt. Jason Hamrick informed officers that his adult son was going through a contentious divorce and had failed to meet him as planned in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Jason’s father expressed concern, explaining that his estranged wife, Angelina Hamrick, was not supposed to be at the residence and only had supervised visitation rights with their children.

Officers made their way to the Hamrick residence, where they made contact with Angelina. She claimed she had not seen Jason in two days and stated that he had allowed her to stay at the home temporarily, as he couldn’t find adequate care for their children. During their conversation, police noted that Angelina did not appear concerned about Jason’s welfare. Instead, she told officers that her estranged husband had been having an affair, appearing dismissive of his absence.

Officers conducted a search of the residence but found no signs of Jason. They officially entered him as a missing person, and the investigation was underway. However, just a few hours later, the local dispatch center received a 911 call that would change the trajectory of the case.
