Sheryl developed a deep interest in the UFO phenomenon, catalysed by her father-in-law who attended a UFO meeting in Brisbane in the 1960s, where the famous alien contactee, George Adamski, was guest speaker.  In 1988 she joined UFO Research Queensland, and three years later was asked to take on the role of President. In 1992 Sheryl and her late husband, Dr Martin Gottschall, established the first close encounter support group in Brisbane, facilitating 3 support group in total during the 1990s.

On a parallel path Sheryl also has a life-long interest in the paranormal which began in her teenage years, but in 1980 she began seriously studying the phenomenon of Near Death Experiences (NDEs). Soon after she joined the International Association for Near Death Studies (IANDs) and in 1995 hosted Dr Ken Ring for the Brisbane leg of his Australian tour where he presented research for his future book Mindsight: Near Death and Out Of Body Experiences In The Blind.

Dr Rings book “The Omega Project: Near Death Experiences, UFO Encounters, and the Mind At Large” (1992) ignited Sheryl’s interest in the connections between UFOs and NDEs which was also being reported in the lives of UFO witnesses she was interviewing. Some years later in 2012, she established the monthly Afterlife Discussions group, an associated IANDS chapter now known as Strange Encounters, where she continued to find links between UFOs and the afterlife in the stories experiencers shared.

In 2021, Sheryl was invited to become the Australian representative for the International Coalition for Extraterrestrial Research (ICER), the first truly global international UFO organisation which aims to prepare the public for alien contact.

She speaks about the UFO phenomenon, the Afterlife and Strange Encounters at public meetings, podcasts, conferences, community groups, schools, libraries and has given hundreds of media interviews. Sheryl has written for many UFO and New Age magazines and in 2018 was a regular guest on the weekly Spooky Action radio show. In 2019 she co-hosted the weekly Strange Encounters radio show, then in 2022 she co-hosted the Strange Encounters podcast on you tube. She continues her role as president for UFO Research Queensland, receiving and documenting UFO reports from the public as well as hosting the monthly online member meetings.

On a cold November evening in 1986, a Japan Airlines cargo flight became the center of one of the most credible and mysterious UFO encounters ever recorded. In this episode, we dive into the strange and chilling story of Japan Airlines Flight 1628, a routine journey that turned into a 30-minute chase across the skies of Alaska.

At the controls that night was Captain Kenju Terauchi, a seasoned pilot and former fighter aviator with nearly three decades of experience. Alongside him were his co-pilot, Takanori Tamefuji, and flight engineer Yoshio Tsukuba. Their mission was simple: fly from Paris to Tokyo, with a stop in Anchorage. Everything was calm until 5:11 p.m., when the captain spotted two bright lights about thirty degrees to the left and slightly below their Boeing 747.

The lights didn’t behave like normal aircraft. They mirrored the plane’s speed and direction perfectly. For several minutes, the crew watched as the lights danced alongside them, until they suddenly darted forward and stopped just outside the cockpit windows. The cabin filled with a warm amber glow. The captain described feeling the “heat of the light” on his face and seeing two square-shaped objects about fifty meters across, each with rows of bright circular lights.

When the co-pilot called Anchorage Air Traffic Control to ask about nearby traffic, controllers reported nothing in the area. Yet the crew insisted they were seeing two objects less than a mile away. Their radio began to fill with static whenever the lights approached, a strange interference that made communication nearly impossible.

Minutes later, the objects disappeare, but radar at Anchorage picked up something unusual trailing the Japanese flight. The military command center at NORAD’s Regional Operations Command also confirmed radar returns that matched what the crew was reporting. At one point, the object appeared on three separate radar systems at once, yet none of them could identify what it was.

As the plane neared Fairbanks, Alaska, Captain Terauchi saw something even large, a massive, dark shape hovering in the distance. He described it as a “gigantic spaceship,” nearly twice the size of an aircraft carrier. Terrified, he requested permission to change course. Air traffic control agreed, and the captain took sharp turns and dropped altitude, trying to get away. But the unidentified object seemed to follow, matching every move.

When Anchorage offered to scramble military jets, the captain refused, fearing an escalation. Moments later, the object vanished from view. A nearby United Airlines flight and a military aircraft were redirected to confirm the sighting, but by the time they arrived, the sky was clear.

The Japan Airlines cargo plane landed safely at 6:20 p.m. The incident became the subject of official FAA and military reports, totaling hundreds of pages of radar data and transcripts. Captain Terauchi was later reassigned to desk duty, though he stood by his account until retirement.

To this day, the JAL1628 incident remains unexplained. Multiple radar detections, visual sightings by three experienced pilots, and maneuvers far beyond known human technolo, all recorded in official document, make it one of aviation’s most enduring mysteries.

It also included strange abductions; the world’s largest UFO wave; an unidentified sound with many witnesses; prophecy and weird hypnosis results; a large US military reconnaissance; and mind control elements, such as people in trances behaving like machines.

Additional reports of an Unidentified Submerged Object (USO), underwater activity, and trans-medium travel were well investigated also. Even sightings near nuclear facilities are considered dangerous, let alone abduction. UAP mental effects near nuclear sites are just as dangerous as physical ones; hence, CE phenomenon should now be recognized. Moreover, Pascagoula was instrumental in bringing about the Tic Tac events and today’s disclosure. Thus Pascagoula is extraordinary but this is for a combination of solid reasons: the large number of credible witnesses, it is a nuclear and military sighting, there were mind-control effects, and it helped to bring about the most consequential UAP incident in modern history, the Tic Tac event. These stories, from Ukraine in 1982 and Vandenberg Air Force Base in 1964, have stunned military insiders and UFO researchers for decades.

What happens when unidentified flying objects appear at the most secure nuclear sites on Earth? And what does it mean when those same objects seem to control or disable missiles with ease?

In Ukraine, 1982, Soviet missile officers witnessed something that defied all logic. A huge, glowing disc-shaped object appeared over a nuclear missile base near the city of Bershad. Within minutes, control panels in the underground bunker lit up, the launch sequence had begun. The codes were entered automatically, and the countdown started. No one had touched the controls. The officers could only watch in horror as their nuclear weapons prepared to fire. Then, as suddenly as it began, the system shut down. The glowing craft rose silently into the night sky and disappeared. Moscow’s official investigation listed the cause as “unknown interference.”

Eighteen years earlier, a similar event took place on the other side of the world. At Vandenberg Air Force Base in California, U.S. Air Force officers were tracking a test missile over the Pacific Ocean. During the flight, radar and cameras picked up a bright, disc-shaped UFO that approached the missile at incredible speed. The object circled the missile several times, fired flashes of light at it, and the warhead was instantly disabled. The missile dropped out of flight. The entire encounter was filmed, but the footage was confiscated and classified. The officers involved, including Lieutenant Robert Jacobs and Major Florenze Mansmann, later confirmed that what they saw was no illusion. They said it was intelligent, precise, and deliberate.

Both incidents reveal a pattern that can’t be ignored: UFOs and nuclear weapons seem to be connected. During the Cold War, similar reports came from bases across the United States and the Soviet Union, glowing discs hovering over missile silos, nuclear systems shutting down or activating on their own, and radar contacts showing unknown craft moving with impossible speed.

The nonfiction book, “It Never Happened” Volume 1, confirms and validates a colossal cover-up of the “UFO question” by the U.S. Air Force. It is authored by retired Air Force Captain David Schindele who was a former Minuteman ICBM launch control officer stationed at Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota. It was there in 1966 when he was involved in a very serious incident where a flying object managed to take down all ten of his nuclear-tipped missiles and render them unlaunchable! This very grave situation involved the strategic U.S. nuclear deterrent force, which was America’s first line of defense in the Cold War.

It resulted in the Air Force “instructing” Captain Schindele to never speak of the incident again and telling him that, “As far as you are concerned, It Never Happened.” Captain Schindele maintained his silence for nearly forty years until other former missileers began to speak out about their incredible unearthly incidents. It was then that he attempted to learn the long history of Air Force cover-up. He needed to find out why the Air Force publicly insisted that flying objects didn’t exist, that they posed no threat to national security, and that there was “nothing to investigate.” He also found he needed to confirm to the world the awesome Truth that “We are not alone in the Universe.”

The book reveals the enormous amount of attention given to Unearthly Flying Objects by the Air Force, which is documented in its own investigative efforts code-named Project Sign and Project Grudge. Those projects are examined in detail, which outlines a trail of convoluted and contorted investigative activity by the Air Force to determine modus operandi of the objects and their threat to national security. This investigative activity was impacted by crucial and essential efforts by high level officials to also protect Truth of the UFO question and the closely held Magnificent and Monumental Secret of Roswell and other recoveries. Released secret and top secret government documents bring all this into the open and into perspective, which then serves to confirm the reality and Truth of the “UFO question.”

Retired Air Force Captain David D. Schindele spent his active military career as an ICBM launch control officer with both the Atlas E and Minuteman One weapon systems, and then he remained in the Air Force reserve long enough to obtain his retirement papers and retain his officer commission. After active duty, he worked as an aerospace engineer in development of the Air Force Manned Orbiting Laboratory, and also Apollo astronaut backpacks used on the moon. He then settled into a thirty-two year career as a computer systems analyst working for two major companies, until retiring in 2002.

For nearly forty years, Captain Schindele kept his Air Force mandated secret of the un-earthly experience he had, which put ten of his Minuteman missiles out of commission. It was only after other missileers began to tell of their similar experiences that he recognized that Truth of the “UFO question” must be released to all of humankind. He currently resides in Washington State with his wife Diana, in a marriage of twenty-one years, and they have a combined family of four adult children and eight grandchildren.

These sightings, centered on a Florida contractor named Ed Walters. His story began quietly on the evening of November 11, 1987, when he claimed to see a glowing disc-shaped object hovering above his neighborhood in Gulf Breeze, Florida. Armed with a Polaroid camera, Walters captured a series of photographs that quickly became some of the most widely circulated UFO images of their time.

Listeners will hear how Walters’ initial encounter sparked a wave of reports throughout the Gulf Coast community. Over the following months, he said the mysterious craft returned again and again, sometimes following him in his car, sometimes appearing over his house. He described beams of blue light, encounters with small glowing beings, and even telepathic communication from what he called “the visitors.”

The episode traces the chain of events that followed: how local newspapers published his photos under the alias “Mr. X,” how national media descended on the small coastal town, and how organizations like MUFON (the Mutual UFO Network) sent investigators to examine the evidence. Optical physicist Dr. Bruce Maccabee would later analyze Walters’ Polaroids and conclude they showed no signs of manipulation. For many UFO researchers, the Gulf Breeze photos were the clearest visual record of a possible alien craft ever captured.

But the story did not end there. Two years later, a model of a flying saucer, eerily similar to the craft in Walters’ pictures, was discovered in the attic of his former home. Jeff Selver, MBA, did not think of himself as an “aliens and UFO guy.” He was a financial advisor for a bank and worked in sales. Yet a bizarre and unexplainable traumatic event which occurred to him in his young adult years came back to haunt him. When he began investigating its cause, the same lights in the sky associated with the bizarre event from his past appeared just as they did twenty years prior. At this point he knew the experience was associated with an otherworldly presence. Suddenly, at the age of 41, screen memories came to light, and broken memories of unbelievable alien contact events began opening up. He would learn the details of this traumatic event that happened as a young adult matched what is now understood as a “genetic activation.” Understanding its origins opened a lifetime of obscured memories of alien contact.

He then proved to himself that his memories were real by having knowledge about places in nature he had never been and corroboration (which continues to this day) of unique similarities between his contact events and so many other contactees, some details too specific to have been made up by his mind. He then began piecing together his story and his involvement with Grey aliens.

Armed with a unique ability to recall his obscured memories in detail (in-part facilitated by the genetic activation), passing a lie-detector test, and videos of UFOs flying outside his apartment while he wrote his book (which can be seen on his website, www.jeffselver.com), Jeff tells his story.

In December of 1997, Jeff experienced the Rising, which was an agreement with Grey aliens to discover his soul. It was an intense consciousness raising event, coupled with a genetic activation. The Rising required him to take a leap of faith, sell all his possessions, and begin a life traveling from place to place. This is “Into the Wild,” the alien contact version, complete with paranormal events, encounters with strange objects in the sky and with beings from beyond. In summary it is 26 contact events with Grey aliens, told in amazing detail, and spread out from the years 1993 to 2017.

Fundamentally, Jeff was shown that what humans understand about spirituality, life after death, dimensions, God, the soul, and psychic powers, are just the beginning of what these beings are all about. And that their capacity, understanding, and utilization of these is much greater than humans can imagine.

Jeff’s story shows that the only way we will ever be able to understand the Greys is to understand the power of our own personal spiritual potential. To assist with this, they gave him a manual of high spirituality addressed to humans he calls the Mystic Book.

Bio

In his twenties, Jeff Selver started his own band which had a modicum of success, packing clubs in the thriving Toronto music scene. He then found a passion for management and leadership which led him to a Master of Business Administration, writing his thesis on spiritual values in leadership and the effects on organizational performance. This led to his work in banks and into the corporate world as a motivational speaker, teaching mindful leadership, and sharing the benefits of meditation. He has been under the tutelage of a Vedic teacher for over twenty years where he learned Vedic philosophy and meditation. When his memories of alien contact came out Jeff began presenting on his contact events in UFO groups, sharing his story in detail, and providing research and corroboration with other experiencers. He currently resides in Vancouver, B.C. with his spouse.
