Alignment: with Bryce Prescott

This week was had a great in-studio guest; Devon Sandoval. This striker for the Real Salt Lake Major League Soccer Team dishes on the life of a pro-athlete, the state of soccer in the United States and how mindset plays just as crucial of a role as skill sets. 
As a native of Albuquerque, NM, Devon played high school soccer at Eldorado High. He continued his education and finished his collegiate soccer career at University of New Mexico; excelling where ever he played. 
Fast forward to 2015 and Devon is the starting forward for the Major League Soccer Club Real Salt Lake; located in Salt Lake City, UT. RSL was his first professional team; having been drafted in 2013 as the 29th pick overall. He hasn’t looked back since. 
In the first segment, we talk about his upbringing, the coaches that have impacted him and the way he approaches the game. Transitioning in the second segment to the state of major league soccer in the U.S. and how sees the growth of the sport.

This week Rules of Success welcomed former Professional NASCAR Driver and accident victim; Shane Hmiel. As the son of one of the original founders of Roush Racing and friend of Dale Earnheart Jr, Shane has been keeping involved in racing since a young child. 
During his four-year NASCAR career, Shane appeared in seven Nextel Cup races, 83 Busch races, and 29 Truck Series races. His controversial stock car career was marred by accidents from his aggressive driving style. 
As he was attempting to quality for a United States Auto Club Silver Crown race, his car slammed into the outside wall and rolled over several times. The force of the crash damaged the protective roll cage on Shane’s car. In an instant, he was paralyzed with severe head and spinal injuries. Doctors initially told Shane and his family that he had a 10 percent chance to live. 
And if he lived, he would never walk or breathe on his own again. 
Obviously – those doctors didn’t know Shane Hmiel. 
We discuss with him his inspiring journey and what lessons his learned that could help Success Nation achieve their goals.

WARNING: I curse a lot in this episode. 
As my most charged up episode to date, I go off about the inconsistencies of how people show up versus what they spew out of their mouth. 
Stop kidding yourself. There is NO such thing as ‘just business.’ If you think that’s true, you’re the problem. 
If you’re the type of person that is a coward, hides behind others and acts like you’re a good guy in spite of asshole moves, then you’ll probably take this episode as harsh. 
BUT you need to hear it because you’re the problem. You reap what you sow and whether you recognize it or not, your inconsistencies are showing up in your life, your health and your relationships, and with how you ultimately view yourself. 
I am tired of people acting nice, and then being a snake in the grass. If you’re a snake in the grass, don’t be alarmed by the hay fever. .

One of my more candid Side Car episodes and recored outside of my studio, I share some of my own personal experiences where I have been required to ‘drink my own koolaid’ specific to the Law of Attraction and inspired action. 
The lesson and encouragement here is to ask yourself “what do I know for sure?” Drill down in faith to your core beliefs and see what really matters to you. Are your results what you want? If not, there are only two reasons why.
