Lately, Zeeger has felt increasingly passionate about the topic of human emotion. More specifically, he wants to explore how we can allow our complete spectrum of emotions, including the more “negative’ and “unwanted” ones, to flow through us throughout the day.
In this episode, we dive into our tendency to overly identify with our so-called “positive emotions” and reject our “negative” ones. Why overwhelm is, in fact, just as valuable as happiness or ecstasy and how closely related “negative” and “positive’ emotion actually are.
Also, we address why the specific types of emotion that we have learned to suppress are unique for every individual, how emotions are signs from your intuition that reflect where you still have space for healing, and how loving awareness (or being the “accepting observer”) allows us to be with any type of emotion, if we practice.
Lastly, we revisit the concept of bliss. We discuss how, despite its common association with love and light, it might as well be a state of pure clarity and non-resistance. In short: how bliss is being with any emotion that pops up.
Ultimately, this episode boils down to one key take-away: that at the end of the day, allowing and accepting all parts of ourselves is the gateway to feeling fully, radiantly ALIVE.
