Chiara Young is a Toronto Pop artist, songwriter and instrumentalist.  She has recently released singles, “Fallout” and “Not For You”.  We discuss Chiara’s foray into music at a young age and how her family and community embraced her early success.  We talk about making the switch from side stage to front and centre, and persevering to always put quality first.

Cosmo Ferraro is a guitar player in Toronto band, Ferraro as well as manager and booker of the Cameron House. We talk about Cosmo’s early foray into music, playing with friends and starting to learn alongside them. As his two brothers also got interested in music, they formed a band and became staples of the Toronto music scene. As mother, uncle and their friend created The Cameron House in 1981, and Cosmo took over the bar at age 22, and keeps its status as a landmark music venue in Toronto intact.

Melissa Murphy is a singer-songwriter and musician residing in Toronto. We discuss Melissa’s upbringing in Newfoundland singing, and coming to Toronto to attend Humber College. We discuss her musical projects including Flatrock. We talk about our show we’re performing together Nov 8th at the Cameron House, and the business that Melissa started helping young artists with singing and songwriting lessons.

Jimmy Rankin is a Canadian country and folk artist. A member of The Rankin Family with brothers and sisters, Jimmy rose to national fame and in the early 2000’s began his solo career. We talk about Jimmy’s new album, Moving East and discuss his relocation from Nashville back to Eastern Canada. We talk about working with producer Joel Plaskett, and the fun working on a record in today’s digital word.

Nathan Ali is a Hip Hop artist currently residing in Toronto, originally from London Ont.  We discuss Nathan’s new release “I Wanna Know”, and his refocusing towards a new sound.  We talk about Nathan’s original foray into music where he made a name for himself with quick writing work and confidence, which landed him a song in a commercial.  We also go into the dark side of the music business, how to avoid being taken advantage of and staying true to your voice.

Darren Mcgill is a recording engineer currently working out of Union Sound Company in Toronto. His recent credits include work with Monowhales, Ivan Angelo, Nate Douglas, The Dirty Nil, Pup and Donovan Woods. We talk about how Darren got involved with audio engineering and the decisions that lead him to Fanshawe College. We discuss how Darren continued to take opportunities and turn them into employment, but not at the risk of loosing site of his pursuit to always working on great albums.

James Harding is singer and songwriter currently residing in Toronto. He is the frontman and primary songwriter for the band Villainest, who play electro rock music midi programmed with a Sega Genesis machine with live instrumentation on top of it. We discuss how James arrived at this musical decision, his early musical upbringing, and how he found his new footing playing music in a new country.

Gina Kennedy and Devon Richard are the bass player, guitar player and songwriters in their band, Altered by Mom. We discuss how they met and how they started playing music together. We talk about how there music lives differ from their personal relationship and how they individually developed into the artists they are today.

Adam is a music producer and manager at Cugini Recordings and New Toronto Grunge. He has with artists such as, Dallas Rodin, 5Star, Cindé, and Veronica. We discuss his trip to LA he is preparing for, and how he got into producing band. We talk about the evolution of the role of a producer and the benefits of working everyday and creating quality work.

Isaiah Gibbons is a session drummer, and songwriter based in Mississauga, On. He has released the funk album, Live Life this year as well as multiple singles featuring artists, Gabriela Rodgers, Gud Cyrus, Liv Marie, Michael Morales and more. Isaiah is also currently playing with R&B singer Anders, as well as his own band Moonhead. We discuss his musical upbringing, his decision to focus on music at an early age and how to establish balance in a music based life.
