I wanted to share a personal part of my life to not only garner more advice, but to uplift anyone in the same situation.
My situation is a child custody case, and how my defying court orders allowed the judge to listen to me in which ultimately I was vindicated.
Now I in NO WAY am encouraging anyone to defy a child custody order, however, in my case it only happened as a means of protecting my children.
The judge stated my case was the most vitriol case he ever witnessed, and that he feels someone could benefit from speaking to a therapist. I find it interesting, because I also suggested in writing that therapy could be useful. Therapy can do wonders for the mind, as I most recently put my daughter in an intensive 8-week therapy session due to the toxic events that happened to her. And remember, even with supervised visits - that's just another way for a third party to witness the children's behavior; still a win-win.
Break ups are never easy, especially to the ones that don't want to break up, but it is a part of life.
Never go to therapy just to say you received help, if all your gonna do is play "games" while there. Don't waste your time and money or the therapist's time. One never knows what can happen after you really decide to do the work, and most of the time it's childhood wounds that can cause us to "act out" in unimaginable/unthinkable ways.
Do the work and reap the rewards for doing the work.
