This topic isn't new and one I'm sure PLENTY of people can identify with, 'cause we've probably all experienced a parent that exhibited some form of control over our lives.

Before I had kids I told myself that I wouldn't be an overbearing parent, or a parent that tried to control every aspect of my children's lives. From my experience and the experience of others, I recognize that being to controlling and/or manipulative never turns out good in the end. Children have a natural tendency to rebel against their parents, so at the end of the day all we can do as parents is be there for our children when they need us.

I've committed myself to being an open-minded parent and raising my kids to question everything, but to think for themselves and too depend on self - 'cause everybody's advice/opinions isn't always the greatest...even your parents. 

Some parents mean well yes, but that doesn't mean that they know you better than YOU.

I interviewed Katherine Davies, on the topic of being raised by a victim of rape/being a product of rape/mental/verbal abuse.

So many of us have experienced some form of hurt in our lives and Katherine, wanted to open up about her story not only to offer healing to herself - but to offer emotional support and healing to others. Katherine feels there aren't enough stories centered around this particular topic and found herself alone with no one to open up too. Katherine finds her vulnerability to be a strength, and is using it to be an advocate for other people in her shoes.

Stories is what connects us as a people; when we can talk to one another and understand one another, it creates a stronger community - a bond.

Personally, I've tried so hard to understand the things that's happened in my own life which brought me down this podcast journey. I'm grateful for it and even more grateful to those that choose to be apart of this journey with me!

I interviewed Stephanie, on the topic of sexual assault/physical abuse.

So many of us have experienced some form of hurt in our lives and Stephanie, wanted to open up about her story not only to offer healing to herself - but to offer emotional support and healing to others. Stephanie spoke about her "fight or flight" response to being a victim of sexual assault, and offers advice to females on potential red flags. 

Stories is what connects us as a people; when we can talk to one another and understand one another, it creates a stronger community - a bond.

Love. L-O-V-E. The most important thing in the world. The highest vibration periodt. 

Just like the Rose flower carries the highest frequency of all tangible things and is the most revered flower in the world - given to others as a symbol of Love; Love indeed conquers all. 

Love indeed conquered me and although it left me confused, eventually I gave in to it because it made me happy. The universe sent me love to heal me, support me, make me laugh again, make me child-like again and to hold my hand as I battled against true darkness. I am forever grateful and thankful for this Angel Love, and honored the universe felt I was deserving enough to receive it.

This Love helped me to "see" me again, and validated my worthiness of unconditional Love. Beautiful Love is something  I wish for all people to experience in ones lifetime. True unconditional Love is rare so when you find it or when it finds you, treat it as the rarity it is; like a delicate Rose petal at risk of wilting if not cared for properly.

I've committed myself to warning folks about the red flags of very toxic individuals.

I'm not saying this is my life's work, but I am serious about it because I wouldn't wish toxic abuse on anyone. So many innocent souls don't have a clue how toxic individuals prey on you, trying to use you for your good energy and light. It's basically like walking the earth with real life boogey men/women; devils in disguise.

It's like when you watch a scary movie and the devil/bad guy comes to you as a good person with a smiling face, and as soon as you turn your back the mask falls off to reveal who they truly are and their intentions. But you don't know 'cause when you turn back around the smile gets plastered back on and the "pretend" personality gets played so well, because it's been an act of theirs for years - to the point where they began actually believing their own movie as reality.

Everyone creates their own life and toxic individuals are no different, but I feel it's necessary to know their patterns/mind games so YOU can decide if you want to be a character in their film.

Melissa wanted to make it clear that emotional/verbal abuse, is just as BAD as physical abuse if not worse.

The word babies came to my mind and made me think about how babies are so pure and untainted, until they enter into hands that will ultimately create their foundation.

Every adult is "tainted" that has children, but how badly tainted remains the question. Also, will the adults taint do more damage to the babies then not? Thus is life!

Energy is a funny thing, where it creeps up on you when you may least expect it.

Imbalanced energy can throw one completely off their game, other times it'll make a minor impact and there are times when it won't affect you at all. That's how you know when you're getting better at balancing your energy - when triggers don't throw you off your game. Some people purposely like to trigger you in order to get a negative reaction out of you; these are usually imbalanced people. 

In this podcast I speak about  imbalance, the affects it can have on you, how to not let it have an affect on you and how to pinpoint it when it's made an appearance in your body/thoughts.

Females are automatically placed in a "box" of being and acting a certain way.

I grew up with the knowledge that females should be prissy, proper acting with good manners. I don't have a problem with good etiquette lol, however I DO have a problem when people try to tame me into a "box" of their making. This is why I speak about our light and shadow selves, and how an equal balance of both is helpful in livin' an authentic life.

I am unabashedly sweet and aggressive at the same time. I can be demure and sensual but I can also be gutta and savage, and I hate that I even have to have this conversation - but so many women including men are judged for not being what folks expect them to be due to ones gender.

This is why artistic expression is so important to me, because with art there is no right or wrong - there's just art. You see it for what you see it as, and if you don't like it you can look away. It's funny though 'cause there are folks that'll complain about it - but keep lookin' lol! Why are you still lookin' or listenin' if you have a problem with it? Obviously, it's SOMETHIN' about it that intrigues you or you wouldn't pay attention, right?

You're for who you're for - no need to stress, so DO YOU and don't worry about the rest.
