Envy. Envy acts in opposition to love. Envy distracts from the ability to love others because it focuses have versus have not. This month we continue looking at love. Loving others, when it's easier to hate. Loving others, when it would be easy to envy what others have. Envy focuses on the gaps between us, love focuses on Jesus, the one who bridges all gaps.

Love is Kind. Seems like a no-brainer. Yet, I know in my home, those I love the most, I can be the least kind to. Kindness doesn't come easy when we are stressed, and life is moving full steam ahead. But kindness is the evidence of live. May the kind side of love grow in us.

1 Corinthians 13 is known as the love chapter. And February is known as the LOVE month (thank you Hallmark)! Appropriately, then we are studying love this month! Each Cup of Hope we will take a look at a section of the verses from 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. Verse 4 tells us, "love is patient." We see the demonstration of patient love through the life of Jesus Christ.

Today we dig into patience that comes as an outflow, as a result of love. We know that loving others is not easy. Choosing patience, choosing love requires intentionality. And requires a life surrendered to God.

What do you think and believe about God's kindness? Nehemiah 9:17 demonstrates for us God's kindness reigned down on the Israelites - despite their refusal to listen to Him. He extended mercy and kindness on them because of His great love for them. He loves us just the same. Let's experience God's kindness today.

Behold the power of God to create the heavens and the earth. In the beholding may you learn to trust, may you feel comfort of the power of God, may you be at peace knowing God holds it all together. And He has a purpose for it all!

As we go through this life we take a lot for granted. The creation is one of them. We take for granted the every morning the sun rises, and each evening the sun sets. Yet God is faithful to give us just what is needed to sustain our lives. Let's walk by faith today, and trust the God who holds creation in the palm of his hands.
