This conversation with Nicole Sudbeck about her journey into motherhood is so raw, real, and inspiring ... I just know you're going to love her!
We discuss having two kids under two years of age; going through postpartum depression, anxiety, and psychosis; the importance of finding community; the pressure to "bounce back" after having a baby; and through it all, learning to honor the highs and lows of motherhood.
Nicole Sudbeck is an Iowa girl living in a Texas world. She is a full-time mom of two under two along with running an online wellness studio for fitness, nutrition, and personal growth for women. She is the founder of Team Commit + Confidence along with Life In The Fit Lane that has been proudly running since 2015!! She truly believes anyone can use a fitness program and use that as a tool to help their life, not just their fitness. Mindset is everything and she works closely with her clients on this one. And now being a mom, working on her journey alongside other moms is uplifting and encouraging every single day. Nicole says, "10 years ago, 5 years ago if you would've asked me if I would meet THE guy I'm going to marry on Tinder and have 2 babies with, I'd laugh at you!!In today's short and sweet episode I'm speaking on something that has been on my mind a lot lately, something that I know to be deeply important not only to myself but to all of us moms.
All moms deserve to make time for themselves.
I know that when I make it a priority to spend time each day doing something that I love - whether it's journaling, working out, reading, gardening, etc - my days go much more smoothly. I feel so much more happy and joyful. I show up better for my family. I can take care of my kids so much better when I'm also taking care of myself.
My challenge to you, fellow mom, is to take five minutes today to do something that you love to do. It doesn't have to be the same as what I love to do, it can look different for all of us. Pick one thing that YOU love to do, one thing that makes you feel happy, and spend five minutes doing that one thing.
Send me a dm @amandarush.co and let me know how making time for yourself makes you feel. I can't wait to hear all about it!

This story is one of my own ... the story of my first pregnancy and birth!
Our first baby, Elliott, was born in July 2014 at 32 weeks gestation due to severe preeclampsia and PPROM. To say that it was a stressful and scary time would be an understatement. But, once we met our strong baby boy after a surprisingly quick labor and delivery, the sense of relief that I felt was like no other.
There really is nothing like giving birth to your first baby.
