Hansel and Gretel is a wild fairytale story. For bedtime stories, it's quite the opposite of a fairytale and all things sunshine and happiness. In this episode, I use the story of Hansel and Gretel to portray how many of us are living today. We are aimlessly walking through this thing called life living on spiritual crumbs (bits and pieces of Jesus). We see in Hansel and Gretel what happens when stones were used versus crumbs. The challenge to you and I is to have a heart that is built on the rock of God (or God's word) rather than the bits and pieces we try to live on when we're desperate for hope. In order to do this, we need to trade our crumbs for all of who God is. This requires disciple.

No matter how well we plan our lives out, it won't always turn out the way we had planned. In this episode, Jarrod and I chat about how we've seen God's hands even in the things we didn't quite understand. We've learned that having a flexible posture is one of the greatest signs of humility. A sign that you are willing to trust an unknown future to a known God.

Do you often seek out affirmation? Are you doing what you're doing in order to receive applause or congratulations? While there's nothing wrong with approval, what is dangerous is when we routinely live our lives seeking the approval of man. In this episode, I share my struggle with the need for approval and how I began identifying my worth that was far more than a degree, job title, or status. You are worth it. You are worthy, now.

Today, we tackle those hard things by understanding first that failure is not the end, rather the beginning.

We've passed a lot of sin as permissible. We've said they are "okay." We've come up with clever justification as to why what we do or how we choose to live is "somewhat Christlike" and because of the somewhat we've deemed it okay. In this episode, I highlight some of today's sins we've convinced ourselves are harmless and sadly daily entertain:
Those are just to name a few.
My challenge to you, the Christ-follower, is to seek truth, seek to be an image-bearer of Christ, and in doing so, we truly will be uncommon people living out integrity and our purpose here on earth.

You can be replaced. I can be replaced. We'd like to think that we can't but that is just our reality. The moment we take our last breath, we can be disposed and someone else fills the role we once occupied. What is indisposable, however, is the legacy you and I leave behind. In this episode, the idea of living a life that's indisposable versus that of being disposable is challenged with the redeemable. That which is found in the legacy we leave behind. That which lives on.

Have you ever questioned God's goodness? Maybe you've said, "that's just not fair God!"
In this episode, my dear friend, Michelle McCraken shares her journey in questioning God through her battle with breast cancer. Michelle shares her personal story along with whether questioning God is even okay. She touches on trusting God in the process and knowing His heart even in the unknown. Michelle encourages us to...
1. Remind ourselves of the joy through praise - James 1:1-3
2. Guard our hearts and mind (don’t allow yourself to stay in a dark place for long).
3. Reach out to God and don't be afraid to ask for help from family and friends - Ecclesiastes 4:9

Many of us are walking mannequins. Strange, because mannequins are technically lifeless. Figuratively speaking, however, we have been living life-less, stuck in the rut of our past, in hurt, in anger, in loss of ambition, or even in our insecurities. In this episode, we dive into the position of stuckness and the reality that you and I have a purpose; a purpose that requires seizing the moment and crawling out of the rut we've become comfortable with.

What would you do if you weren't afraid? Fear is one of the biggest reasons we remain stuck and comfortable. We are okay with not taking risks because comfort is easier than trusting an unknown future to a known God. At least that's what we convince ourselves. In this episode, my dear friends David & Morgan Hargrove tackle the topic of fear. They share parts of their story and challenges you and I to:
1. Run the risk-reward analysis - is God still God?
2. Start small, achieve those small steps, and repeat.
3. Look at what's possible with faith (see Bible examples).
Bonus Tip: don't be a cold timid soul that has neither experienced victory nor defeat - Do that thing!

The average person spends close to 7 hours each day scrolling on their phones or plopped in front of their TV. This podcast is not anti-social media/all media, rather it's stirring the thought that maybe just maybe you were created for more than media consumption. Maybe you have a purpose beyond a screen. This episode targets Christians specifically who've become comfortable with the ordinary and have lost sight of the big picture.
