  • Join Us as We interview Musician Phillip Broussard
Phillip Broussard discovered his passion early in life, when his father brought home a guitar. His father's original intention was to play the guitar himself, but he soon found Phillip picking up the guitar, when he didn't think anyone was watching. What started as just a few chords, ignited a desire to want to share his new found passion with the world. Born and raised in Washington State, Phillip grew up under the influence of several artists that his father idolized, including Pink Floyd, James Taylor, Jimi Hendrix, and Eric Clapton.

Tragedy struck at 18 years old when Phillip's father, grandfather and uncle passed away within 6 months of each other. Phillip enlisted in the United States Navy, in an attempt to quell his grief. Early on in his Naval career, someone handed Phillip a copy of John Mayer's cd, "Room for Squares". This album reignited Phillip's passion for the guitar after a hiatus, due to the loss of his family members. In 2007,  Phillip deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. During this time, he refined his guitar skills.

After his time in the military, Phillip sporadically played gigs in the San Diego area. He relocated to Washington State, where he completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Washington in Seattle. He acquired a BA in Finance from Foster School of Business. Phillip's music stylings have a darker tone, but range from the Blues to Pop tunes. When Phillip is not playing music, he earns a living as the owner of a general contracting business in Pierce County Washington.

  • Hydra M. Star and Alder Strauss Join Us Again
Home-grown in Bellingham, Washington, Alder Strauss loves where he lives; being particularly fond of the Seattle and Portland areas and their surrounding natural beauty. Alder has been writing since early adolescence, drawing much of his focus in the mystery and horror genre, and has various works published in ‘Infernal Ink Magazine’ and ‘The Nightmare Engine’ horror-fiction magazines under another name, among others.
Hydra M. Star began her existence as one half of a set of twin fetuses. She ate her twin in utero. Almost from her birth—as an only child—she had an intense interest in all things mysterious and magical. As she aged, her taste matured and darkened from the Disneyesque styled fairy stories of childhood to the Erotic Horror she writes and publishes today. Her work is often inspired by legend and folklore, with violent werewolf sex being one of her favorite things. Consider your triggers warned.

In addition to writing, Hydra designs and hand-burns a line of pyrography items featuring symbols and signs from various occult and magical traditions. She is also the publisher of Infernal Ink Magazine and  the owner of Infernal Ink Books, both of which she uses as platforms to bring the most twisted and sexually depraved horror and dark fiction she can find to the world.

Diane Moat is an author, nurse, attorney and dog rescuer. Born a Yankee, she travelled to Nashville as a tourist, and loved it so much she didn’t leave. She has now been “down south” for long enough that she uses “y’all” and “you guys” interchangeably. For her 50th birthday, she decided to venture into writing. What started as a small project produced her first dramatic novel, “Dog Gone”. The story combines her love of animals with her fantasy of being able to stop animal abusers. After “Dog Gone”, came a young adult novel, “Guardian of the Way”. Thoroughly bitten by the writing bug, Diane next began her middle grade series: “The Supernatural Pet Sitter”. This award winning children’s series follows the adventures of a young gnome as she pet-sits magical animals. • Author Taylor Dawn Comes to Play With Us
Taylor Dawn began writing as an item to check off her bucket list. She resides in the southernmost part of Illinois, right on the mighty Mississippi river. She enjoys the quiet country life with her husband, son and the many farm animals that make up the rest of the family. Deciding that farm life was just a little too mundane, Taylor began writing romance and fantasy to liven things up, so far so good. Before starting her writing career, Taylor entered the field of cosmetology. When she isn't writing, she can usually be found sitting around a table making people laugh. She has always wanted to be a standup comic. She loves pulling practical jokes, dresses up in a costume every Halloween and believes that dancing is the key to a happy life (even if you aren't a good dancer). She believes that life shouldn't be taken too seriously, we will never get out alive anyway. More than anything, she is a kid at heart, she doesn't believe in bedtimes, eating everything on her plate, or having ice cream only for dessert. Her favorite quote is by Dr. Seuss..."Why fit in, when you were born to stand out."

  • Author B.R. Stateham Down With Us
B.R. Stateham will be sixty-nine years old in May. Supposedly, people creeping up to that age are thinking about retiring. But for B.R. it's not going to happen. As a nine year old kid he wrote his first novel on lined paper, using lots and lots of pencils and their erasers. At 20 he sold his first novel to DAW Science-Fiction, and thought at the time he was about to journey on a long career being a middle of the road Sci-Fi writer. Ah, but the finicky gods had other plans. Over the years he has delved into self-publishing novels and collections of short stories. Currently he has hardcore dark noir novellas out with up-and-coming Indie houses such as Fahrenheit13 and Near To The Knuckle. He's also found a home with Britain's Endeavour Press, a dynamic new name in the ebook publishing field, with the re-release of his Turner Hahn/Frank Morales police-detective novels.  Endeavour is also publishing his new series, featuring a 1st Century Roman detective by the name of Decimus Julius Virilis.

The writing game is nothing but an odds-very-much-stacked-against-you throw of the dice. But B.R. Stateham has no plans in throwing in the towel and walking away.
