Having boundaries is so helpful in healthy relationships. I share how I learned how depending on others who have boundaries keeps me safe.
We continue the discussion this week around being too sensitive or too strong. It's confusing when in a toxic relationship. And are these terms demeaning to the survivor?
We continue the discussion related to one year later. This week to chat about the victory in being able to leave.
Listen as I get insight into her traumatic experience from Carol. Grief is a process, not an event. It was a year ago during this time the traumatic experience for me took a turn for the worse. I discovered the man that I purchased a house with and who promised to spend the rest of our lives together was keeping plenty of secrets. I was yelled at for accidentally opening mail and for revealing I made more money than he did. His raft was unbearable then. I am currently, working through the pain and grief of his behavior. But, I am grateful for the tribe that has held me up throughout.
We have a new co-host. Carol Binta Nadeem, a licensed clinical professional counselor and certified clinical trauma professional who received my MA in Mental Health Counseling from Bowie State University. I am also a Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor who specializes in family system healing from the effects of substance abuse through education and multi-sensory processing of childhood wounds.
