Almost Fiction

Music has always had a way of bringing people together. Concerts, karaoke, and even listening parties where fans of a band or group will get together just to listen to an album all the way through. But, what happens when you take the music a little too seriously? What happens when you let the music take control? Welcome to Almost Fiction.

Sometimes slapping a label on someone is easy when the truth… is usually a little deeper, buried underneath the surface.

We all know that someone or someone’s who lie on the internet. Sometimes it’s their photo, its either over edited, over filtered, or is a photo of themselves from 20 years or 20 pounds ago. Other times people lie about their lifestyle, appearing to have it all when in reality they are barely holding everything together. Then there are those who lie about their past. Where they’ve gone to school, the jobs they have, or… their criminal history.

I tried to find a crime that was a little… lighter. One not full of rape, torture, and crimes against children. Consider this… something of a break. This week's killer is direct, and to the point. No prolonging of events, no sadistic joy. Just cold efficiency.

Some people are larger than life, and that’s not always a good thing. This week we look into a man who at one time was one of the strongest men in the world. A man who’s name was just outside of the record books and he was able to do all of this… while in prison.

This week we look at the story of Marvin Gayle Gray.

This week we dive into a case that has very little in the way of information. The case itself is pretty cut and dry, there were only two victims, one of which survived. There was no trial, only a confession and a plea deal. But, there was also a journal, and the contents of that journal are more than some can handle. Welcome to Almost Fiction.

Imagine finding a crime scene. But, not just any crime scene, a murder scene. How long would that stay with you? How long until you’d be able to put it past you and move on. This week we learn about a killer who left his work out for everyone to see, a killer who didn’t care about his victims bodies being found, in fact, he probably enjoyed it. Don’t forget Almost Fiction will be at CrimeCon 2023 in Orlando, come out and say hi. I like it when they say…

Some serial killers have no real excuses for being the way they are. Their childhood is relatively normal by most standards, and such is the case this week. So why did a young man who grew up in a middle class home decide to go off the rails? The answer might be there is no reason, and it also might be the scariest part.

Join us for the conclusion of the tale of Heriberto Eddy Seda, the Copycat Zodiac.
Eddy finally becomes what he’s always wanted to be.
A serial killer.

Part Two has us joining Heriberto Eddy Seda right after his first attempted murder. Eddy just wanted to be force, a reason for his entire neighborhood to fall in line. He wanted to control, through fear. Is that too much to ask?
