Alpha Pod Flight - An Alpha Flight Podcast

A little while ago I sort of bullied Tim into letting me send him this comic. And then he agreed to read it, and be on this podcast! We talk about what the early 2000's looked like, flying horses, old men and all sorts of other stuff.Alpha Pod Flight, Copyright 2018 Gareth A HopkinsAlpha Flight cover image borrowed from marvel.wikia.comAlpha Flight and all related characters are copyright Marvel or Disney. Bill gets drafted in again, to talk about the first two issues of Captain Marvel: The Rise Of Alpha Flight. If I could have somehow shoe-horned in 'The Rise Of Alpha Pod Flight' you better your sweet face I would have.We start with a little intro which Bill wrote himself, honestly, I had nothing to do with it. Then the podcast proper, where we talk about the movie Aliens, probably some stuff that happened in his school and Martha tries to but in constantly, including a long section where she meditates loudly. As usual, if you're here for hardcore Alpha Flight chat, I can only apologise.Alpha Pod Flight, Copyright 2018 Gareth A HopkinsAlpha Flight cover image borrowed from books.google.comAlpha Flight, Captain Marvel, and all related characters are copyright Marvel or Disney. Douglas Noble, who came on Alpha Pod Flight to talk about Sasquatch fighting the Super Skrull on episode... 9?... invited me onto his podcast 'The Gravity Equation' to talk about Machine Man 17, which guest stars Sasquatch, Aurora and Northstar. He's agreed to let me share the audio here. The Gravity Equation, Copyright Douglas Noble 2018Alpha Pod Flight, Copyright 2018 Gareth A HopkinsMachine Man, Alpha Flight and all related characters are copyright Marvel or Disney. I know, I know. Another not-Alpha Flight, aka Alpha Not Flight. My daughter Martha reviews one of her favourite books, that's it. If you're here for Alpha Flight content... well, wait, I guess.Alpha Pod Flight, Copyright 2018 Gareth A HopkinsOne Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish cover lifted from Penguin Randm House's website: https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/43109/one-fish-two-fish-red-fish-blue-fish-by-dr-seuss/9780394800134/Alpha Flight and all related characters are copyright Marvel or Disney. It's been two weeks since the last Alpha Pod Flight which I celebrated by 100% stuffing up the recording. Luckily, my guest this time is a class act -- it's only Vince Hunt, creator of Red Mask From Mars and Stalkerville... I mean, Murder Road. We talked all about Marvel 2-in-1 83 wherein Shaman does a Shaman, The Thing and Sasquatch have a very polite fight and Ranark does a bunch of Ravaging.Alpha Pod Flight, Copyright 2018 Gareth A HopkinsAlpha Flight cover image borrowed from marvel.wikia.comAlpha Flight and all related characters are copyright Marvel or Disney. This time I'm joined by critic and satirist Tom Whiteley who works at The Daily Mash but more importantly writes excellent articles about comics from the late 80s, here: https://suggestedformaturereaders.wordpress.com/Turns out he doesn't like Alpha Flight that much, nor does he think issue number 12 is that great. I mean, he's wrong, but whatever. We also talk about what wrestling would be like if it was comics, the exact year hockey deaths per year decreased from the 1000s to the 100s and my daughter massively interrupts us for what's only about a minute but feels much longer.EXTRA SPECIAL this episode is the band Vulcan Dub Squad let me use their track 'Alpha Flight #12' on this episode and I'm super glad they did becasue I love it. Since they've broken up now all their music is free to download on bandcamp, but if you like it and you can feel free to bung them a couple of quid: https://thevulcands.bandcamp.com/Alpha Pod Flight, Copyright 2018 Gareth A HopkinsAlpha Flight cover image borrowed from marvel.wikia.comAlpha Flight and all related characters are copyright Marvel or Disney. This time we try another pubcast, like we did with Dan White and John Bishop. This time there were a few more people there, they were a bit louder, and I was a bit more stressed. Luckily, Sunny was here to guide us through - we talk about Namor and the Avengers and comics which combine those two things with Alpha Flight.Sunny's twitter is: http://www.twitter.com/SunpreetGrewalSunny's sister's dog's instagram account is: https://www.instagram.com/duke.grover/ Alpha Pod Flight, Copyright 2018 Gareth A HopkinsAlpha Flight cover image borrowed from marvel.wikia.comAlpha Flight and all related characters are copyright Marvel or Disney. In something of a departure, on this episode we discuss a BRAND NEW COMIC. As someone who rarely reads BRAND NEW COMICS it came as a bit of a surprise... like, I'm an old man who's only ever listened to swing, and is offering his opinion on Clean Bandit or something. Like... it's something I can see might be popular, but I'm not sure it's for me?Alpha Pod Flight, Copyright 2018 Gareth A HopkinsAlpha Flight cover image borrowed from marvel.wikia.comAlpha Flight and all related characters are copyright Marvel or Disney.
