Alpha Pod Flight - An Alpha Flight Podcast

Seriously, if you're here for chat about Alpha Flight maybe skip this episode...Once again Martha bullied me into letting her do a podcast that wasn't about Alpha Flight and I let her like some kind of chump. Here she discusses Looga And Barooga The Treasure Of Soap Island, mostly by memory which is pretty good, tbh.

Ever heard a parent's enthusiasm for an activity drain audibly? No? Well you're in for a treat. Bill was desperate to have another go on the podcast, and does very well until he gets bored. My daughter also pipes up to ask who Alpha Flight is. I go slowly insane.Enjoy! If you like listening to a podcast that's supposed to be about Alpha Flight but instead somehow covers Magic The Gathering and adverts for sweets then BOY HOWDY you've found the right podcast.Between my desperate need to explain everything and my wife's desperate need to derail me from whatever I'm explaining this podcast is full of pauses, confusion and plenty of outrage. And yes, Amy is my wife. Or, as she describes herself at least three times during this podcast, my 'long suffering wife'.Alpha Pod Flight, Copyright 2018 Gareth A HopkinsAlpha Flight cover image borrowed from marvel.wikia.comAlpha Flight and all related characters are copyright Marvel or Disney. Well here's an episode of Alpha Pod Flight where John Byrne didn't do the issue of Alpha Flight we're talking about. John Bishop of http://www.johnbishopillustration.com/ joins me in a pub to talk about Issue 33, where Heather Hudson gets shot out of the sky by Magneto, Lady Deathstrike stands about a bit and Wolverine tells an early part of his very convoluted back story.

WELL, this is a landmark episode, because I finally get John Byrne's biographical link to Canada correct for the FIRST TIME. This is all thanks to Dan White, aka thebeastmustdie, comic creator and podcast host. We meet in a pub which slowly gets noisier to talk about the unfortunately lacklustre Alpha Flight issue 3 whilst Dan tries to turn the conversation around to Judge Dredd, but manage to also include:- the perils of reading comics on the train when you're an adult man- ladies not feeling pain as much as men do- the potentially incestuous relationship between Northstar and Aurora somehow, againAlpha Pod Flight, Copyright 2018 Gareth A HopkinsAlpha Flight cover image borrowed from marvel.wikia.comAlpha Flight and all related characters are copyright Marvel or Disney. Fraser Campbell joins me to talk about Issue 5, how it's sort-of related to A Midsummer Night's Dream, "Henchman Fashion" and the artistic choices involved in making characters wear skimpy clothes and be immodestly hairy. I also relate an Andy Yanchus-based anxiety dream.Alpha Pod Flight, Copyright 2018 Gareth A HopkinsAlpha Flight cover image borrowed from marvel.wikia.comAlpha Flight and all related characters are copyright Marvel or Disney. One lonely Wednesday night I was visited electronically by comics writer/publisher Tom Ward (he makes Merrick The Elephant Man which you should seek out to read) and we talked about Alpha Flight Issue 13 of all things. The comic's got 11 pages with no dialogue, Puck reveals his soft and hard edges, and yes: Guardian's properly died in #12.Alpha Pod Flight, Copyright 2018 Gareth A HopkinsAlpha Flight cover image borrowed from marvel.wikia.comAlpha Flight and all related characters are copyright Marvel or Disney. On this episode I'm joined by film maker James Plumb to talk about a landmark issue in comics history. We talk about when my neck grew in, whether this comic was the best platform the issues it attempts to address, and the legacy of both Watchmen and New Mutants.During recording I was near-constantyl interrupted by my son, most of which I've moved into a handy 'outtakes' bit at the end.http://madsciencefilms.com/https://twitter.com/madsciencefilmsAlpha Pod Flight, Copyright 2018 Gareth A HopkinsAlpha Flight cover image borrowed from marvel.wikia.comAlpha Flight and all related characters are copyright Marvel or Disney. This time around I'm joined by Sean Ross to talk about Alpha Flight #1 - I'd say "where it all started" but it actually started in The Uncanny X-Men, and that's a future episode of the podcast. Sean is a steady stream of high-quality information, and if you've not listened to an Alpha Pod Flight before and are interested in what Alpha Flight is this is a perfect place to start.http://pulp2pixel.blogspot.co.uk/http://twitter.com/Sean42AZAlpha Pod Flight, Copyright 2018 Gareth A HopkinsAlpha Flight cover image borrowed from marvel.wikia.comAlpha Flight and all related characters are copyright Marvel or Disney.
