As we enter the new year many of us are looking to recharge and supercharge our photography and in this episode of the podcast Andy and Juan want to share with you some photo resolutions you may want to consider.

We would like to make a bittersweet announcement, this is our last episode of the AlphaMirrorless podcast, Juan and Andy feel privileged that you have joined us here and trusted us with your questions, but we both feel it is time to move on.

If you have enjoyed our podcast and trust our knowledge and expertise you can continue listening to us. Andy and Juan will be starting a new podcast due to launch next week called reCOMPOSE.

* Juan: One thing I discovered is that when you connect an hdmi to the camera, the built-in lcd screen turns off. I wish I was able to control that.

* Andy: Sony updates firmware on other cameras to allow the LCD screen to be turned off, like on the a6500. Very useful for long exposures and also for timelapses.

* Juan: Apple AirPods (these will be great for travel) available for order today.

* Andy: Zeiss Touit 12 for the a6XXX series. Several were using it for aurora and star shooting in the Yukon last week, it performed great and the photos were amazing!

AlphaMirrorless 040: Fotodiox Releases A Nikon to Sony E Adapter Plus A Few Other Loose Ends

Fotodiox just recently released the FUSION Smart AF Adapter to adapt Nikon Lenses to the Sony E mount. While there have been other adapters for Nikon lenses this is the first one that promises full AutoFocus and exposure functionality with the Sony E mount system. While neither Juan nor Andy have had the opportunity to try this adapter out themselves, Marc Muench, our trusted friend has so we dragged him into the podcast so that he could share with all of us his experience with this much anticipated adapter.

But we are not yet done with this episode, after the talk with Marc, Andy talks to us about his recent computer system upgrades and how he decided to tackle his image storage and backup issues, while Juan shares with us his thoughts on the recent uproar on Apples decision to forgoe established USB3 and Thunderbolt port on the newest MacBook Pro laptops in favor of USB-C; also known as "Donglegate".
