Every now and then you meet someone and you ask what they do professionally and then you walk away still not sure what they do professionally. Roy Staley is one of those guys. He works for Nvidia and he makes computers do really cool things. He's a deacon at Southside, he's a husband, a father of two, and a faithful follower of Christ. We hope today's episode clarifies a little bit of what Roy does, how he's still able to glorify God, and how he's always striving to ALTAR his algorithm!
We are sometimes bound by something. Sin. Struggle. Pain. Loneliness. Uncertainty. God gives us the ability to identify that we've got a problem. He also gives us the ability to see (through His word) that we have access to his solution. I hope this week encourages you as you try to recognize what's holding you back from fully allowing you to be a follower of Christ!
Peyton Crump is one of the deacons who serve in many of the ministries at Southside. Helping with organizing teachers, assisting with camp, and planning department events with his wife and children, Peyton does some amazing work. His perspective is worth hearing and we think you will find it encouraging as we encourage you to Altar Your Algorithm!
Jackson and Tyler have recorded their first remote episode! Talk about overcoming giants! In today's episode they wrap up the Giant Killer series. What giants are you facing? Are you letting a giant stay alive even though God's done most of the work to kill it? We hope this episode encourage you as you're facing your giants and Altaring Your Algorithm.
Scott Cowan joins Jackson this week on the podcast to talk about investing! There's something so much more valuable than dollars we can invest, and that is our relationship with Jesus. Scott is an elder at Southside, a husband, father of two, community pillar of Hopkinsville, and a joyful person all around. We hope this week's episode is encouraging and uplifting as you invest in your relationship with Christ
This past Sunday was the last Sunday that Jackson was at Southside. Bittersweet, but the journey continues! Altar Your Algorithm is looking forward to the new doors that are being opened in Bowling Green.
It doesn't matter where you are or what you do, if you're doing God's will, you are doing the right thing.
In a fun conversation with a young engaged couple, we explore what engagement means, what advice is good, and how we can be intentional in our relationship with Christ. Even if you're not in a romantic relationship at all, there's something in this episode for everyone! We hope you're able to Altar Your Algorithm and walk closer with Christ this week.
Apologies for the late upload on this one! I (Jackson) dropped the ball on getting the edit complete! But I think this discussion about facing your giants is a great one. We all have giants. We've got to face them or they're going to always loom over us. Remember you don't have to face them alone. When David went up against Goliath, he was not alone. God was with him. And the same God that was with David is with us. You can face your giants!
This week Tommy Brooks joins Jackson and Tim to talk about service, fishing, and how to gain wisdom. A great asset to the congregation at Southside, Tommy helps in so many ways. He makes sure the flags are at half-mast when they're supposed to be, he fixes just about everything that needs fixing, and he cares for his wife of 50 years. We hope this episode is encouraging as you strive to Altar Your Algorithm!
Hunter Ezell is one of the coolest people in all of Hopkinsville. You've probably seen some of his work online. He films weddings, is a great photographer, and most importantly loves Jesus. Today's conversation was fun. And I hope it's uplifting considering all that has happened over the last week.
Be kind and show grace.
