Marc Fogel is an American schoolteacher who was arrested in August 2021 by Russian authorities for trying to enter Russia with 0.6 ounces (17 g) of medical marijuana. In June 2022, he was sentenced to 14 years in prison. In this episode I sit down with Marc's mother Malphine Fogel who recently turned 95 and hopes that she will see her son again. Information below on how you can help in changing Marc's conviction in wrongfully detained in the hopes that he can be considered for early release. Malphine, or "Mal" as those close to her call her, turned 95 on Monday March 11, 2024. It was truly an honor to sit down with her as she told stories about Marc.

Sherry Jo & Tom Both share the story of their 21 year old daughter Siena who died from fentanyl poisoning in their family home in September of 2020. Siena's death is what motivated her parents to start Stop The Judgement Project to deal with their grief, but to also support other parents who might have children struggle with substance abuse or who have lost children to it. The road has not been easy and there isn't a day they don't miss her, but staying connected through her death and being the support for others struggling has been a mission they are both facing head on.

In today's episode I sit down with Jess Burr, Clinical Director of Reach & Rise at The Butler Family YMCA and Issiac, a 15 y/o 9th grader at Karns City High School, who like so many come from a broken home of domestic abuse, neglected parents struggling with drug use.

Reach & Rise® provides kids with a safe and comfortable space to make new friends, learn new things, talk about what's on their minds, and receive encouragement from supportive adults to achieve their goals.
